Hello guys sorry if im not posting correctly. I have a 95 eclipse gsx automatic, 67,000 miles. Bought it from my grandfather. So im driving today and the car wasn't picking up the way it used to. Also when i stepped on throttle the rpms rose but the car really wasnt going anywhere. Please help. This is my 1st car im in love with it and want to keep it till i die.

Yes i did check it while running. Im mot that much of a noob. Ive been on here since i bought the car done alot if research. So far ive read that it could be the torque converter, transfer case, and tranny. Ive spike with my landlord hes built i think 3 or 4 dsm's, he said most likely the torque converter or tranny. He is leaning toward tranny cause the converter doest usually go with low mileage

Sounds like a new clutch pack for you!! My auto was doing the same, and that was the culprit. Glad I no longer have an auto, even though the clutch pack is easier to change then a clutch is.

IT's exactly what it sounds like!! Your car goes into a mode that makes it limp home, guess when the ECU senses are major problem, it gives you about 10% power allowing you to get home without doing much more damage "so it thinks" Don't think limp mode is your cause, as it would be a constant issue. Could be a boost leak as well, could be a crack in a hose somewhere. If it's slipping from a dead stop and it feels up front, that's a clutch pack.

I don't have a gsx, but if I did, to check the transfer case, I'd have a friend stand side your car while you do a launch and record it on your cell, if those back tires are not keeping up with the front tires, almost standing still, while the front tires are tearing it up, that would be a sign of a xfer case.
