Hey Everyone !

I'm looking to buy this 95 GSX. He is asking $5000
It was fully stripped down to bare metal and repainted.

Come with:
6 bolt, bored .60 over 7 bolt head ported
All machine work is said to be done with receipt proof.
Wiseco Forged Pistions
Manley Rods
Brian Crower Valves, Retainers and Springs
Brian Crower High Lift Cams
Fidanza Lightweight Flywheel, Race Bearings
EiBach Lowering Springs
3 Gauge Pillar
Eprom ECU to use with dsmlink Precision 6776RSP Dual Ball Bearing Turbo with Anti Surge Housing
Has everything for AWD and 5 speed transmission

-> The car will need to be fully assembled with all the parts

Does not have:
Seats
Exhaust
Wheels
Fuel Injectors and Pump
Hood

I really want to get it but I'd like to know all your opinions.
Is it worth all the work?

My 2 cents, personally I would pass up on this. Take it from some one who has a few project eclipses.

There are a lot of great shiny parts listed there but that is a BIG project to take on, Id keep looking. I actually just recently found a running 97 GSX completely unmodified for $1800 and now I get to build this car the proper way and not have to piece together some one else failed project.

Also welcome to the forums, all the DSM information you will ever need is listed on this site. You just got to search for it.

I also say don't do it yeah cool they had it painted correctly, but your not going to be able to enjoy that car for a loooooong time. I say get you one that runs and go from there. There are plenty that are way under 5k that you could buy and do quite a bit to it with the extra cash from not buying this one. Hope you find one and welcome to the dsm world!

I would also pass up he is asking to much money and u still have to put a bunch of money to get it runing and if the guy dident do things right ur going to have to spend even more. Its gunna be a puzzle puting everting back together and he might be missing things.

+1 on passing due to the fact that everything is torn apart. If he/she has all these nice parts why doesn't he/she take the time to assemble the vehicle back to road worthy status and sell it for much more. I wouldn't spend that amount of money for a non-assembled car but that's just me.

Pass not worth the headache. I would buy a running driving car with tons of parts with the idea that Id have to fix something?.?. but at least Id have a ton of go fast parts. Or buy a bone stock car and build it the way I want knowing its all done right. After messing with a car that had 10 owners and some go fast parts and spending a ton of time fixing their mess ups... I can really appreciate my low mileage bone stock car.

I will also agree on passing on this one. I just picked up a GSX after almost a year of looking for one. You could get one running for that amount easily. I would hold off on that one unless you can get it for 2k I wouldn't do it.

I also ride motorbikes. In that scene, we call projects like this basket cases (as in you buy a basket case full of parts). You only buy a basket case if you know exactly what you're doing to put it all back together and you get it so cheap that it's worth the risk of it being a total waste of time and money. At 5k, this isn't that kind of deal. To put it into perspective, people usually buy two or three basket cases with the intention of making one good bike. The concept is the same with a car.

I would only buy this car if I already had a running car with a shell that was rusting out. Even then, only if the paint job was what I wanted and I got it a lot cheaper than 5k.

Maybe its just me?? But I'm not really sold on at least part of the paint job, it looks sketchy. I don't like the fact that the engine bay was just painted. The lines, hoses, bolts, trans mount, ect do not appear to have been removed(see; passenger strut tower, trans mount, and entire driver side), but to each there own. But I know It would be real easy to hide strut tower rust with some bondo and a shoddy engine bay spray.

I'm gonna have to fall in with the pass. Unless you have lots of money, time, and experience. You are taking on someone else's project, and you really don't know where it was beforehand, or where he left it off. The most dangerous part of car shopping is falling in love with a car.

Five GRAND? If he gets that I'm going to make a killer profit on my 2G doing the same thing...because that's crack head pricing.

$5,000 could buy you one hell of a mint, un-modified DSM. Or a pretty good quality DSM with light mods with roughly $1000-$1500 leftover to play with.
