Hey guys. Im totally new to this board.. And this import cars all together. Was always an american muscle fan till i got to many tickets and sold my camaro. Went to a truck and finally getting back to a car. I bought the car today and I get it next week. I have searched this site and found that the many people like the HKS SSQV BOV so i bought one. But i wanted to get ahead of the game and find an intallation guide on line for it. I couldnt find anything. I assume it would be easy. Any Install guides on line around here. Thanks for the help...

first mod should be a boost gauge, second the bov, you are right on with that.. you will want a better flowing upper intercooler pipe soon anyway so may as well pick that up now, flanged properly for your hks, then get a boost controller and turn it up to ~15 psi. exhaust, more fuel, better intercooler.. oh yeah, and a bigger turbo :D

if you havent already check out www.vfaq.com, its got a lot of good info about the cars.

Waaaaay back when I bought my SSQV with recirculation kit,it fit right on my stock UICP

im just assuming they dont line up, ive never seen it in person though i remember seeing uicp's flanged specifically for the hks.

if it fits the stock mount, bonus for you, one less thing to worry about :thumb:

Thanks for the help. Still wondering if there is an on line guide with pictures or seomthing. I heard it just fits right on the stock. Thats why i got it. Also i didnt buy the recirculation because i heard that the CEL only comes on about 10% of the cars and that fixes that. If im correct the BOV goes right to the left of the engine...

This has nothing to do with cel's. It has to do with not allowing a huge leak in the intake tract to exist.

Yeah, I would replace that pipe. It is the most restrictive part of the WHOLE ENTIRE car. Go with a nice cheap Dave Brode UICP and be done with it.

Can i pick up that pipe at like a local pep boys and how much does it cost... I am a college kid heh. Where is the best place and at least a good one. That would work with the HKS SSQV thanks guys u guys are awesome here...

Per request.... his products have been around for a long time. Alot of people use them. :thumb:

Depending on what your plans are for the car in the future,I dont think you should bother getting another UICP right now.I would go BOV,Boost gauge, and MBC first of all.If you intend on getting a FMIC kit later on its pointless to buy the UICP.Dont get me wrong it would be a good upgrade to replace the stock pipe, but like you said your in college and im sure your funds arent the greatest at the moment. With a MBC,Gauge, and your SSQV you can turn up the boost a little and not have to worry about that shitty OEM 2g BOV leaking on you. That should hold you up just fine for the time being. From there I would then go with maybe an Injen intake pipe/cone filter, exhaust, and then maybe the UICP if you dont intend on getting a front mount.

Yes, but the gains and response from a $70 Pipe is going to be better than the 2 years he has to save college money to afford the $1000 FMIC kit. Hell, after the UICP you can go to a Supra Sidemount and be fine. FMIC are nice, I have one, but not always needed. It depends on your goals. The Supra SM can flow alot of air for you.

No,I hear you there.Thats why I said depending on his plans in the future.Whether he planned on upgrading to alot bigger turbo or whatever. The stock sidemount will do fine. It'll be able to handle whatever the T-25 can throw at it
I really think he should get a MBC and boost gauge though before he does move on to upgrade the UICP so he can turn up the boost somewhat. After that I would definatly go with a turboback. We all know how restrictive these stock exhausts are.

Yes....

boost gauge

MBC

I did piping kit and Type-S at the same time so that I could utilize the MBC

Exhaust

Then the door is open to whatever your heart desires. :thumb:

i got a used dejon tool UICP with HKS flange, its pretty straight forward. put the bov in the hole and get the snap ring inside on top of it. i didnt buy a recirc kit, just had that recirc flange that come with it and got some tube that fits over that and fits inside the stock tube.

im surprised no one else has mentioned it yet, but DONT VENT YOUR BLOW OFF VALVE TO ATMOSPHERE

either buy the recirculation kit or rig something up yourself. the maf sensor on your car is immediately after the air filter, which means that all that air you will be releasing from your intake tract has already been accounted for by your ecu, so when its vented out the car will be running rich as hell because the ecu is expecting xxxx amount of air so it injects the proper amount of fuel to burn that air, even though there in actuality is only xx amount of air now due to it having been purged by your non recirculated blow off.

anyone that tells you otherwise is wrong, period. yes the car *will* run vented, no it will not run properly. end of story.

That or a MAFT setup will let him run fine. Hell, he could run with a pipe off.

Ok just wondering. With the recirculation kit on. How wil the hks ssqv sound. Will it be not as loud. Im guessing it will still be loud??? Since its a pull system??

the stock 2g bov is noticeable outside the car with a hard intake pipe and k&n filter, the hks one would be louder.. even recirculated. you can make it even louder than that if your recirc tube is made of metal. yes it will be louder vented.. but would you rather have a slightly louder blowoff, or a properly functioning vehicle?

my type s recirculated with the stock rubber hose into an injen hard pipe and filter was loud as hell in and outside the car, ive never understood why anyone would want the small increase in noise instead of a car that runs good.
