Just bought a 1997 GS-T with a lot of Mods done to it, it runs fine till it gets into boost then, spits, farts , and back fires. Has Turbonetics turbo kit (don't know what turbo, how do I tell) header, big injectors and fuel rail , full 4 inch exhaust. Turbonetics waste gate. Gretty blow off valve. AEM Tru Boost gauge/contoller. Still has what I think is the stock MAF. Apexi Neo a/f controller. from what I have been told my problem is probably the stock MAF not being able to handle all the boost of the big turbo. I need some help with what to do to check this and what I need to add to this setup to make the car run right. The guy I bought it from bought it from someone else and did not all the stuff in the car. He says it is a "built" block and has aftermarket cams in it , but I am not sure about any of that. Any help anyone can give me would be graetly appreciated as I am new to the tuner type cars but do have a lot of mechanical experience. Thanks for your help in addvance.

1.) boost leak test
2.) switch to a 2g maf
 
welcome to the DSM world, you have to do a lot of reading my friend . reading and reading and reading is the answer now

and then do a boost leak test

can you take some pics of the engine and the ride . we might help you big time
