Well, a while back I bought a turbo off of a guy. It was off of an cyclone motor from a jdm (i hate saying that around dsm's, LOL) galant. The numbers of my stock 14b had the first 5 digits then - 0100. On the new turbo, the first five digits are the same, but the last digits are -0140. Me and one of my friends have been debating on what size turbo it is. It has the split style compressor blades like the 14b and is almost identical, but I thought that the cyclone engines came with a small 16g which my friend said is about the same as a 14b. Thanks!

the 16g is a better turbo than the 14b.and jdm 4g63 usually come with the small 16g.

it's a PITA to try and tell from those #'s compared to just looking at the blades the turbo. 16gs have stepped blades (small, big, small, big....etc) and 14bs have straight blades on the compressor wheel. they both have the tdo5h compressor cover. www.vfaq.com and go to turbo, then click turbo comparison and it will explain it and give a picture. post a picture of your turbo if you still arent sure.

and the above poster is wrong, very few jdm 4g63s have s16gs. only one model of the galant vr4 came with a s16g adn if you look at the injectors on the motor the turbo came from it will have the blue 450cc injectors if its a 14b and yellow 510cc injectors if its the s16g.
