Ok .. need some advice .. I am running a borg warner 256 turbo and a few other Mods.. but now I think its time to move to the external wastegate and tubular 02 housing.. Does any one have any idea how hard it is to install or any recomendations on wastegate manufacturer or spring psi.. Right now i am pushing 33 psi boost and once it hits it wont sustain it thats why i am going to externally gated but i was wondering if it was something i could do on the lift myself or if i needed to take it to a shop??

a good tubular manifold is really expensive. I would suggest looking for a cast mani from SBR or ported 2g mani with external wastegate.

You will need to have the wastegate flapper welded shut on your turbo. I think you would be find with a 35psi spring.

There are different size wastegates, and I would do some research on that because I dont know which is better.

Do you have a MBC ? If so, just get a wastegate with a 1 bar spring and let your MBC do the opening at the desired boost level you wish for it to hold. In other words, if the wastegate spring is meant to open at 14.7 lbs of boost but your MBC is set at 35 psi, then your wastegate won't open until boost has reached that set level. As for a company, i see mostly everyone running tial's, and for your turbo, a tial 41mm would do good. As for the exhaust mani, i'm sure you want the best flow possible, i would recommend you get a tubular style manifold, i know they are pricey, but it helps out with spool time and overall flow.

well for the exhaust mani the one i have now is the stock 2g ported.. and thanks for the advice.. how hard is it ot do.. should I take it too a shop or could i tackle it myself.. . is the internal flap accesible without removing the turbo or am i going to have to take it off..?

Fairly simple. Remove flapper and internal wastegate actuator. Slap on a good o2 housing with provisions to mount an external. Mount external and then make sure it is running right.
For o2 housings, I like Punishment Racing. You can get them in either a Tial 38mm or a V-band style Tial 44mm.

Of course, this all depends on if your housing is divided or not.

PS: Fill out your profile. There are not THAT many parts inside or outside your engine to warrant "too many to list".

when you say it isn't sustaning boost, do you its falling off, or it creeps? also when picking out a wastgate spring if you plan on running 33 psi, then make sure you have a gate spring of at least 16.5# reason being is that the increased back preassure could force the valve open and cause the boost to fall off. I had a car do this once drove me crazy, every pass i'd have about 28 psi in 2nd, by the end of the run I was down to about 15.. that was with a Tial 44 and a large red spring.
