So I got my internally gated RS49 in and the WG actuator came seperate from the actual turbo so I guess im suppose to mount it, but I have no idea how to mount the damn thing. I have tried to put it in every place I could but I cant seem to find the spot where its suppose to mount. If any of you out there running this or ever had a similar prob, please let me know how you mounted it. I didnt have a chance to call AGP Turbo today since I was working all damn day. I would like to put the turbo in tomorow, any help would be greatly appreciated. Here is a pic...

okay.......let us know how that thign works out......im curious tho.......i called AGP they pretty much convinced me that that turbo was the way to go but how much did it cost you to install it? aka "install kit" etc......sorry to hijack your thread ...good luck with everything man :D

Well the for just thte turbo with the internal gate it cost around $900ish...I didnt need any install kit because I already evrything from before when I had my 16g. All I did was buy oil feed and return lines from AMS which are top notch by the way but i freakin didnt get all the fittings they were suppose to come with!!! So I couldnt finish installing it since I was missing the fitting to plug into the oil filter housing. So today I am hoping one of two things...I can get the fittins from AMS or have my oil feed line modified with the fitting on the end...I have to remove my A/C fan even after I WAS TOLD that the turbo should fit and the wg would clear the FAN...IT DIDNT...so I temporarily took it out while I get a slim one....

So I guess to answer your question you will need the turbo internally gated will cost you minimum $900 + shipping...then a 7cm2 gasket $24 bucks at AMS....then oil feed lines cost $150 from AMS, you can see the return line in the above pic....AND THEN I bought two bolts I thought I needed to plug the coolant lines that were $4 bucks a pop AND THEY DIDNT EVEN FIT!!!! Then if your gasket are no good you will need a gasket for o2 to turbo which I forget what that costs...A 90 degree elbow welded on if you want it +50 I think...or I just used a silicon connector $25 bucks. It starts adding up and it best be worth it!!!

As far as the install went....shit never goes right when you are installing something...thats something Ive noticed I dont know about you guys...But actually everything was pretty simple....Removing the A/C fan helps a lot so you can get clearance of the WG actuator... All I need to do is get this damn feed line ready which I am on my way to do know so if any1 has pics of this turbo installed please post, thanks!!

man.......im glad you told me this..........since ive never done a turbo install and all.......what turbo did you have before? Im gettin ready to do a turbo install im not sure if im ready for this big a turbo.....i may go 16g now LOL.......let us know....from talking to AGP that turbo should kick major ass.........good luck man =)

Ok...so I finally get a fitting to fit the damn feed line and all is gravy so I think...I refill my coolant and I take it for a spin...

As of right now I am still on stock injectors....I got 680s waiting to go in so I wanted to boost like 15 psi... I go and do a 2nd gear pull and its really laggy didnt built boost til like 4700 rpm and the boost went crazy high to like 20 psi....

The thing is I think I have the WG actuator arm not set properly since AGP shipped the turbo without the wg actuator on since it bolts onto the o2 housing.....I am trying to adjust it right now to see if thats the problem, I know its not my MBC it was working fine with my Big 16g. Here is a pic of how the actuator is currently set...any suggestions on how I should move it would be greatly appreciate....

What I can say from the pull though OMG it felt nice, it was a little laggy since the wg acutator is not properly set I think, but once it started pulling it was pulling! I hope I can get this damn thing right so I know what its really like.

When you put the "wg" on did you adjust the wg arm so that the wastegate was close tightly. You can turn the waste gate up and get more clearance. Loosen the bolt on the o2 housing and turn the wastegate up and adjust the arm so that to loop that goes on the flapper is hard to get on and then tighten the o2 bolt back up..

so you were running a 16g on stock fuel before you bought this? how was it? any numbers? im trying to decide between evo 16g or buying the RS49 i have stock fuel/turbo and dont know what 2 do good luck wiht your setup

Sigh....right now I want to say that I am very disappointed with this turbo and I dont even got numbers yet!!

The 38mm flapper on the turbo wont open...I took off the O2 housing to see if it were interferring with the flapper but it wasnt.... So I tried movin the flapper and it wont budge!!! So now what I will probably have to do is send this back to AGP which I cant afford to do since I sold my other turbo and this is my only driver....I havent talk to AGP yet but I can already hear them say "Well you have to send it in first" so no idea what to do at this point....I dont want to do at this point, I dont want to break anything. What puzzles me is that there was nothin wrong with the flapper until after I mounted it on. It just stopped moving  I dont really want to call AGP cause I doubt there is much they can do. Im at a point where I just want to say #### this internal wg crap and go with an external setup which sucks cuz thats mad money!!!!

Hook a hand pump to the WG actuator and see if it pulls it the WG open. If it doesnt then diconnect the WG actuator and O2 housing and see what it is hanging up on. Try and move it by hand if that doesnt work then check the WG actuator off the car. Again take the hand pump and see if the rod moves back and forth. If so then it could be just an alignment issue. If not then you will see what part is working why it is having problmes.

I'm not that familier with this particular turbo, but i thoght the wastegate should be hanging down not up . Maybe take off the O2 housing and see if you didn't get it stuck in the open postion.

The little arm should be down only if the WG is on the passenger side. On this setup the WG is on the driver side so the little arm needs to be up not down. The WG pushes not pulls. Good thinking though, I thought the same thing until I went back up and looked at the pic again.

I have taken the turbo completly off so that I would check what the hell is going on. What happens is that the damn arm that opens and closes the flapper doesnt move...It moves but it doesnt move freely. You have to apply a lot of force for it to open it up or to close it. I have no idea why it has done this. The arm open and closed the flapper before I put it in. It would open and close a lot more freely than it does now. It sucks cause I just got this, did nothin but bolt it up and now I most likely will have to send it back unless this thing can be fixed locally. It sucks cuz this is my only car I got work and class everyday. Took it to AMS this morning and they said they might be able to fix it but if they touch it the warranty on the turbo will most likely be voided which makes sense. And I want an attempt from them to fix it but then I thought if a damn arm breaks by just bolting it on who knows what else could be break after sometime of using it, so I got no choice to but to see what AGP says....Ive called all day no answer.....Ive wrote them an email which I hope they reply ASAP....next time I will save the bullshit and go with an external gate
