Hey all, I'm currently looking at this 2g GSX and need some of your help deciding if I should get it. The car has..
272/272 hks cams
42,000 original miles
3 inch bushur exhaust
720 injectors
255 walboro pump
It is a built 6 bolt.

I am coming from the VQ series world and know nothing about DSM.
Basically my question is about the mods the person has listed.
Are the cams good for DD or is it really aggressive. I've heard built 6 bolts are better than the 7 bolts because of known crank walk issues with high HP output is that correct?

Thanks in advance for your input :thumb:.

Yea they would be bad for a DD althought that little T25 is probably taking a hurtin from it. HKS 272 are great BTW I loved mine before I upgraded.

Car looks nice and has quality parts. Is it tuned or has anything to tune with? I'm going to guess it has more upgrades then you listed. I can see a afpr, fmic, greddy/greddy style bov, aluminum radiator from the pictures.

Yea it does. You can see the FMIC, strut bar, pillar gauges, etc. But it has a BOV? I heard venting are a no no for DSM's. I'll ask if he's got it tuned or software and parts to tune it.

ALso someone suggest to upgrade the T-25 to a 16G correct? What are your thoughts on gt35R or t-26.

t-26 ?

An Evo 3 16G is a good fairly cheap upgrade turbo for most daily driver cars. Most tuners will see potential for a little more than 350whp and it offers quick spool up (<3600rpm). Some legendary tuners have even pushed the little guy into 500whp territory. The 35r is a great drag turbo, but a bit laggy for most on a non-stroker daily driver, it'll cost you much more as well -new exhaust mani, custom DP, etc.

HKS 272s are fine for a daily driver, broad powerband without losing much, if any, of the lowend.

Nice DSM, welcome to the site.

Nice find. I say go for it. The cams should be fine for DD, just upgrade the turbo like mentioned above to a evo3 16g, it spools quick yet pulls hard up top as well. Hope you enjoy the car, such a clean find.

The BOV isn't vented. It has a recirculation hose off the front of it leading to the aftermarket turbo inlet pipe.

Nice car, Happy New year!
