Need help deciding whether or not to enter a race

Well this weekend there is a pretty decent sized race in my area that I was thinking about entering. One of the classes is a radials class, radial tires only. It cost $40 to enter, so I would like to atleast have a chance of being competitive if I am going to enter, problem is, I have no idea what most cars run on radials. I know I will probably be the only import entering, but I wouldn't want to go out there and get raped and make dsm's look like an idiot. btw its a pretty small event, prize money is only $200. So what I am posting for is to see what you guys have seen people run on radial tires? Not like fastest ever or anything like that, but just some good fast cars on drag radials. Thanks for any help, if I don't enter this one I will definitely enter one after the cams and nitrous go on.

Dude.... you run an 11.5...most guys that run an 11 or comparable are rwd and you'll get them on the launch.... I think you'll do pretty good. Go out and represent.

This shouldnt even be a question in your mind. All those big HP RWD cars are gonna be out of luck on radials. You definately do have a great shot.

Just got done doing some weight loss on the car. Took out the stock fuel tank, a/c, and alot of other small stuff. I am also going to take out some interior items for this weekend like the front seat and the speakers. That along with the fact that it still needs some tuning and has about 4 more lbs of boost in her I think she should run pretty good. All of that stuff was on the car last week.

You could always tell them they are drag(kinda said under your breath) RADIALS...

I know of a couple stangs in my area that run 10's with drag radial's, so I would watch out for some cars there. Just go and have some fun. also you didnt mention if it was bracket racing or head up.

They aren't allowed drag radials from what I understand, I believe street radials from the way the original poster wrote. Ever seen a RWD car without drag radials or slicks? AWD is gonna own them hard, 11.5 and you might be running faster, I'd say give it a shot and see what happens. Looking forward to a follow up if you do compete.

Dude go do it! You run mid 11s and have to question whether you should enter a street radial race? I'm not trying to be an a$$, but damn man, you know the answer. But if you are comign on here to look for support, there is no better place to do so.
Check the rules, I know some classes and races make you keep your interior (atleast the front half) in the car. Plus why all the changes? You ran 11.5 with all that stuff in. You can say you beat all those guys WITH ac, radio and everything else.

Sorry guys, didn't run the race. It was like 90 degrees outside and the tranny was slipping. I should have ran though! There was 1 car that ran and 8.xx, but other than that it was low 12's! Could have had second! They were allowed to run drag radials though!
