My stock pos turbo looks like it bit the dust and I'm looking to not only replace the turbo but of course go for some more power while I'm at it :hellyeah:

So far I have a few minor mods cold air intake and a 3" exhaust. I installed a eprom ecu but have not had it chipped yet. I also have a punishment fmic on its way as we speak so ill have that installed and ready for the turbo of choice.

Trying to decide the right one because I have read through a ton of forums and read this and that back and forth so maybe you guys can help. Its going to be a street car first and slight weekend track fun. I guess around the 350hp mark without worrying about blowing my engine haha. Most people have said the small 16g is the right way to go but with my car being a spyder and a lot heavier than most i didn't know if i should go bigger. Thanks for any input on this i need to buy a new one asap. :thumb:

looks like im gettin a e316g whenever i get the spare chance.

damn b16g blew my motor so now i gotta start all over again..stock.. no fun :(

Man i hate to hear that about your b16g, i hope you can get the engine built the way you want now that your starting over :). Im back and forth between the b16g and the e316g. The b16g ive heard is stronger and more reliable than the e316g. So i might just go with that. I still have about 2 weeks to decide...but the sooner the better for my daily driver...

I personaly would go with the E316G....and when you do, I used this bible for it LOL...How to: Replace your T25 with a MHI Turbo (14b/16g) - Team-2G Mitsubishi Forum

Ok that is by far the best diagram on how to do this teardown/install of the turbo. +1! Thats going to help me out a ton on how to do this. Like i said working on hot rods my whole life is a change to imports. Cant wait to get shadow purring like she should be :thumb:

That being said dose anyone know where i can get the best price on a 2g 16g install kit? I keep seeing the go for around $175 shipped but i didn't know if anyone knew of a good sale out there?

i am in the same boat as you, except all i have is turbo back exhaust, i found a kit on ebay take a look and tell me what you think....

1995 1996 1997 MIT ECLIPSE 4G63T INTERCOOLER TURBO KIT: eBay Motors (item 170501377292 end time Jul-16-10 16:21:57 PDT)

Run away from that kit as fast as you can ha-ha. Never go ebay on the turbo. The rest of it would most likely be ok but i have some nightmare stories about ebay turbos. Everything from the fins melting to the shaft snapping off within a month or two...Yet at the same time i know someone who has about 7k miles on a ebay 16g with no shaft play. Best bet is go MHI for a budget. They cost around $500 new and $200+ used.

Also check out punishment racing they have a great price on there fmic. Hit them up with a pm and see what they can do for you :thumb:

...You dont need an install kit, if you search and do your research. I would recomend a 1g oil line and using that to supply, you need some new bolts and a few other things, like a j pipe off ebay is fine. Just search, its a great button.
