trying to re-install my slave cylinder now, and I see that the rod that comes out of the bellhousing which the slave cyl pushes on is locked, won't budge no matter what. I really dont want to pull the tranny off, but it seems it's stuck in gear... I tried a rubber mallet and I still couldn't knock it lose.

This is all because I installed a ACT 2100 clutch to replace my worn 2600. Any ideas on what has caused this?

Obviously something is bound up. You are going to need to remove the transmission and see what happened. Look for any unusual gouges, wear marks, etc that could give you any leads as to what happened. If the fork arm is seized up, and won't move at all, I'd look at the area where the throw out bearing rides and see what you find.

Good Luck

well although I couldn't push it in... The hydraulic slave cylinder had no problem. Car goes into gear nicely, and disengages nicely. After brake in, I'll see if it holds the power.

You probably can't move the clutch fork on your own. The slave pushes on it with way more force than you can with your hands.

^Normally I could.... I used to be able to no problem.

They were designed to be actuated by the hydraulic slave cylinder. I thought that the slave cylinder wouldn't move it.

If it works normal with the slave, and it doesn't slip or chatter, then you probably are ok. Different clutches work and feel differently. If you can push a pressure plate by hand and activate it, you are one tough dude.

Good Luck

^oh no I didn't mean i could push the pressure plate ha, I meant I couldn't push the little rod that comes out of the tranny through the rubber boot. I used to be able to manually, but then again, my clutch was shot ha!
