Help asap. With clutch install

Just finishing up clutch install now and I cannot get the left intermediate shaft to go on the driver side axle. The axle will go on the shaft about 1inch in then it hits looks like there's a little clip. Do I just pry the axle into the shaft? Or do I have to take that clip off?

I believe you press the clip so that it contracts, and you slide it in. When it gets past the splines, it will open back up, locking the axle in place.

A soft tap will slide it right in.
