I am converting a 95/96 mirage to Evo III hopefully once I negotiate for a car I've found. I know the 1G engine harness connects with a patch harness into the mirage no problem . For CA legal reasons ill need same year or newer motor. So using a 96+ motor with a 1G engine harness will work or no? I know the ECU will need a patch harness to work but what about the engine harness would need anything? TIA!

I know you'll need a solution for the cam angle sensor at least. I'd save a lot of grief and get the right harness... a lot of the a/f system sensors have different values for upper and lower limits from 1 to 2g, so I bet the plugs are probably different too or atleast youd have different part numbers.

Apparently I've already posted something about this. So 2G ecu into a 1G works? Links to schematics and where can I buy a pre made patch harness? Thanks

Also depends what year the harness is, is it a 90 or 91-94 engine harness? The 2g has a few more sensors that the 1gs dont so you'd have to eliminate them and switch a few sensors with 1g sensors.
as far as ecu your best bet would be to match one with the year of your harness to save on wiring time.

Cant do that in this State, CA requires the Same year or newer for the swap. the car i am trying to buy is a 95. OBD II. The harness and Engine is going to be a 6bolt and 91-94 harness. Emissions will all need to be 95 as thats what I'm saying to motor is from.I will need to wire in a 95 Ecu, also tune the car and shut down all sensors that I won't be using from the 2g ecu(MDP, Secondary O2...etc). anything else I am missing?

Also the main reason I am using a 1g harness is because a member already makes the Patch harness to use it.
