A little while ago i was looking into upgrading my ignition, since my stock coil packs were shot. Intsead of upgrading it to MSD stuff or the 4 coil pack setup from extreme i just bought new stock coil packs, some 8.5mm magnacore wires, and new NGK plugs. A couple days ago i was on dsmparts.com looking at some stuff and i ran across these. Does anybody have this setup? If you do please throw me some feedback on them. If you dont' have them and your friend does post for him or her. Also if you do have this setup i have one question. How is the wiring setup for the part of the coil packs that connect to the wiring harness. Because on the stock coil packs they sit right next to where they plug into the wiring harness. Are these setup with them being all connected and one long wire running from under the spark plug cover to the plug on the wiring harness? Thanks for any replys.

that picture looks exactly the same as the COP that slowboy makes and sells... Ill let you know how it works out for me in a couple weeks when I get mine.

Yes, you just take the 3 wires from your wiring harness and extend them under the spark cover. Or, if the COP is a good one, there will be a plug in play end on it.

Also, punishmentracing has a COP for $25 cheaper.

yeah but slowboy does'nt make them
they buy them too besides look on bay buy it now $250 c'mon I have a set.
your welcome :D
punishment kit removes the stock transistor this kit does not

Thanks for the replys so far. Umm i wonder where slowboy gets them from. tis20gawd you said "look on bay buy it now $250 c'mon I have a set." I'm guessing you meant look on ebay, buy it now? Well i went on ebay and found on set. Click on the link and let me know what you guys think. I'm going to send them an email and ask a couple questions. Thanks for anymore replys, later.

the guy is really cool and the kit looks great it is the exact same coils as my friends buschur setup just half the cost. :D
after looking at the punishment kit ....it kinda looks like gm or ford coils, It also looks like there are plug wires going throught the plate onto to the plugs. The kit I bought was TRUE coil on plug no plug wires hmmmmmm.

Y'know I'd be a little careful about companies selling you a coil on plug kit that eliminated "waste spark" in our cars because you can't with out going standalone.
Our ecu's only have two(2) coil drivers? you cant (without spending a fortune) add two more just cause, hmmmm again be a little carefull make sure they made them right If the coil's dwell is off you could prematurely kill the coil's or possibly even the coil driver.
Just remember you usually get what you pay for I knwo that the coil on plug setup I bought works perfectly and you only have to remove the original coil pack and cut the triangular plug off the engine side harness.
hope this helps. :thumb:

Yeah i just went on ebay and looked under the guy you bought yours from. He has another COP setup up for bidding. You seemed to be pretty happy with the one you bought from him so maybe ill bid on this one. I just have to sell my 1,800 mile old magnacore 8.5mm wires and my 1,200 mile old stock coil packs. Since they are pretty close to brand new, if i get like 200 bucks for them i will be happy. Thanks for that link to the COP setup.

tsi20gawd i went and ebay and did the buy it now option for another cop setup that the guy you bought it from had up. just did it today. Also i put up and ad on dsmtrader for my magnacore wires and new stock coil packs and i have two guys that want to buy them already. good stuff, so i will almost get the money from that to pay for the cop setup.

When you get that installed and all together let us all know if there is a seat of the pants difference :thumb:
I have been looking into getting one but I just dont know if it will add hp . I think it would be pretty cool to add a msd to that and really crank up the juice :talon:

i have been reading some threads about making your own COP ignitions, from ather car that use them, that at least resemble the ones being sold and they dont run so well. are these better?

yup these actually work! :D well the other ones did also but not for long.
I noticed absolutly NO change at all in fact a buddy of mine is dying for a set so I am going to sell him mine. I would imagine at some point these would be usefull but I have run 30psi on stock coils and NEVER blown out the spark so I say if you are running deep 10's these COULD be usefull but having owned a few diffrent ignition systems stock has taken everything I have thrown at it :thumb:
But these are MY opinions only ;)

I got mine from slowboy and there nice i like them alot i havn't had anyproblems its seems too run smoother. I don't miss fire ever as for hp its seen upwards of 10hp just because more precise firing, hotter spark, less resistance and a coil for each cylinder. The slowboy set up come with a plug and runs all the way to the stock plug. Great Product :thumb: :talon:

We are the ones who duplicated the Buschur setup.

We are the ones who sold them to slow boy and also sold them to DSM parts and now only sell them on our site and on ebay.

we are having an issue on ebay at the moment but you can buy the COP sets from out site directly and will be able to get the ebay price too.

www.r3dr.com

The only issue we have ever had with them is some cars have weak ignighters and they have to be replaced.

The setups work just fine with or with out msd, ems systems.
