Need advice on swap.

Hello, I need help making a decision. I am buying a 1991 eclipse awd gsx rolling chasis. I have a 1992 awd auto. I am wondering should i swap the parts from my parts from the auto into the manual or convert the auto to a 5 speed. If i swap the 92 awd parts to the 91 manual I will be swapping

safc wire in
fuel pump drop in the assembly
fmic
afpr mount it
motor/tranny have to pick up engine crane.
radio.

Auto conversion
Pull rear end from manual and install in 1992
swap pedal assembly
fluid resivor
shifter cables
remove seats
remove console and carpet
remove steering column
pull the tcu

I don't know if i left something out or not what would you do?

I would swap everything to the other car. 5 speed conversions are a pain

I agree. If the shell is clean and rust free I would swap everything into the 5 speed car.

thanks for the advice. The car in the picture by my name is auto. I will be sad to part her out.

Do you agree that most dsm guys would rather have a 5 speed over a automatic?

Most would yes, but the few that realize the auto potential, as well as $avings would prefer an auto tranny. At this point dealing with the garbage that is a 1gawd trans, rebuilt/torrington'd, cryo'd, full on 'save my trans' rebuild, and still stripping 1st, 2nd, or 3rd gears, auto all the way.

I think the swap into the 5spd is the better choice of the two.

Id swap to the 5 spd..im currently helping a buddy do the auto conversion though...and so far its a pain

I agree. I would go with the nicer shell, unless you know your body work. sometimes its easier to do a tranny swap then to redo the whole body work.
