Need advice on manifold turbine housing setup.

I have two options to switch up my turbine housing to gain some efficency and hopefully some ponies.
Option A $1150.
Punishment dsm flanged manifold. STM: PUNISHMENT RACING | 90-99 DSM MITSU-FLANGED MANIFOLD

With a forced performance T31 turbine housing. Forced Performance Turbochargers: FP30 Style T31 Turbine Housing

Option B $1300
Shearer Manifold. Shearer Fabrications - Products

I know nothing about the quality of the punishment mani. I need to call and see if it's even made in house.
 
Punishment manifolds are made in house. Quality welds and lifetime warranty! And I believe they use schedule 40 pipe on their manifolds instead of the thinner schedule 10 used by most others. I know it states 8 gauge tube, but I did some measurements and it's closer to schedule 40 pipe.
 
Going by your signature, you're running a BB 50 trim in an SBR bolt-on hotside, and you've already got a HAFE manifold with 38mm gate on it. To go the FP housing route, you're going to have to relocate the gate to the side of the turbine housing, and it's set up for a 44mm flange, so you're going to either need to re-weld it or get a bigger gate. You'll also have to redo your dumptube, and you'll need a different o2 housing. That's going to add up fast and give you minimal gains.

The other option with the T3 mani will also require a different o2 housing, but you can re-use your gate and probably the dumptube as well. I wouldn't bother doing it unless it was the .82 hotside, but then you're going to have a more dramatic change in spool-up. Either way, you're looking at additional costs beyond the mani and housing.

Honestly, I wouldn't bother with either option, I'd probably sooner stick with a cast bolt-on manifold and go to a bigger turbo with more modern wheel design, like a BW or HTA. This FP package might be a good fit, and you could sell all of your existing stuff to offset the cost:

everything in my sig is correct and you probally are too. The main issue is I had a tubular manifold and went to the cast out of frustration with the cracking. I now don't deal with the cracking but the car doesn't feel the same. I was just trying to get a little more out of the car and go to a tubular mani that doesn't crack every track day. All the other stuff I was going to fab since I just bought a nice miller to do such things. I just want to keep my options open in the future to go to a hta 30r or a fp3052. I'll sit and think on it for a while.
 
Not that going to T3 versus DSM bolt-on is ever a bad idea in terms of airflow and peak horsepower, but what sort of airflow numbers are you logging with your 50-trim in it's current state? If you're near the peak output of the compressor with your current setup, you may be spending a pile of money to upgrade the manifold and turbine housing yet notice hardly any power gain at the wheels.
 
I got on the phone and might be selling my whole set up to a friend for $1,200. That's for Turbo (3176bb), Tial wastegate, manifold, SBR SS tubular o2, dumptube, and SS gaskets. That would offest the cost nicely for a 3076R or 3052. Does that sound like a fair price? Turbo new was 1,100 and he knows how well I take care of my car. It never even goes out in the rain for heavens sake.

I was seeing 48 lbs. per min at 24psi on pump.
 
Those are good numbers, honestly. I can't see how going to T3 is going to make or break your setup based on airflow that is already excellent. I'd hate to see you waste money on a manifold like that unless you're planning on going with something in the 35R platform rather soon.
 
I forgot I couldn't log currently due to some rewiring I'm doing. I ended up going with the FP t31 housing for 195, a tail mv-r, and I'm going to fix my old tubular manifold. After I sell my tial 38 and the cast manifold I'll have only spent a few hundred clams to go to this setup.
 
I'll have to see if there is a difference after I log again but the over all driving experience from the feel to the sound of my car is now better. I am very happy with the change and I hope to see a little more spool and airflow after I do a pull.
 
It's what I had and I bought it years before FP even offered there product. I did not purchase a new one I just did some welding to fix up the tubular I bought from slowboy years ago. I compared logs and hit full boos 900 rpms sooner now and flow a half of pound per min more up top.
