6 bolt block(stock internals)
272 cams
evo 3 16g turbo(Still planning my build so I don't know what boost levels I would run)
wet nitrous kit(nothing crazy just thinking like a 25shot)
e85(how does this work with N20)

Does this setup work I understand that if so it would involve a lot of tuning. Is anyone running this setup, if so what type of times are you pulling? Also how much boost are you running before/after spray? How big of a shot are you running?
Thanks, sleeper1ga
*would my bottom end be able to take the hit?*

If you are planning that small of a shot just increase boost by a bit more. E85 and spray work really well you pull less timing with it.
As far as tuning the nitrous since its a wet kit you "tune" the fuel side using jets. 50 is what I would start with then work your way up 100 is pretty safe. I did 150 shot bone stock w/ race gas for a while never gave me a problem

What turbo and boost levels were you running at that time?

If you are sticking to a small shot you only need a dry kit. Not only is it simpler, its safer with smaller jets. A dry 50 shot only changes afr's by half a point which is easily accounted for with rich street tune. Only if you were going larger would I go with a wet kit, and at that point I would go direct injected.

I wouldn't even bother with a 25 shot. If you have link or similar you everything u need minus the nitrous hardware to run a 100 shot. But a 25 shot is a waste of money for the nitrous kit. You'd be better off using that money to turn your evi16g into a 20g and enjoy a 25 to 50 hp increase that u can use anytime.

Thanks everyone for the input! I said 25shot, because I'm unfamiliar with 4g63's and I figured running a 16g would be pushing my limits with stock bottom end so I thought I would only be able to run a very small amount, but get to spool a little quicker. Sorry for the N2O it's easier to type N20 haha. The reason I want to run a wet kit is, because this build is just for that I have a car to drive until I can afford my big build, plus isn't a wet kit safer(I've never ran nitrous, but that's always what I found in my research). Nitrous is cheap for me after install, because my buddy runs top dragster and I get a cheap hookup for refills.
I guess the better question would have been how much boost and nitrous can I safely use?(I didn't want to come off like every guy at the parts store after a fast & furious release)

As I think someone stated above u shiuldnt even spray nitrous below 3k rpm. Which is a split second before a 16g hits 20 somthing psi anyways. Its about the most responsive turbo you'll see on our cars, so I don't know what u are expecting for spool.

like I said for the price of a cheap nitrous kit you could rebuild your 16g and upgrade it to a billet 20g. U would have the same quick, td05h spool with an extra 25 to 50hp that u can use all day and never run out. Actually the best thing u could probably do for cheap if its available is buy a set of 1050's and switch to ethanol. That will give u a lot more power and better spool.

When you say upgrade the 16g to a 20g, do you mean use a kit like this one : http://m.ebay.com/itm/151484946495?nav=SEARCH
It's that direct fitment for an e316g?

Yea I mean somthing like that. Only 14b and small 16g need machine work to the bearing housing to upgrade. There are a number of 6\6 and 11 blade billet 20g wheels out there or even a cast mhi 20g is a great compressor. and u can buy a bigger cover or machine yours for the 20g wheel. They are direct fit for evo16g. Just make sure to use an upgraded thrust plate. 20g don't like the mhi thrust hardware when you are spinning them way up with that tiny exhaust. Before the custom homeade mhi craze blew up I broke a few mhi 20gs using OEM rebuild kits. You can google for pics to make sure the rebuilt kit you choose has the proper parts. I know some of the prominent builders on here choose to use a mix of OEM and aftermarket parts to offer the best turbo they can, nut I haven't run into problems using a variety of complete aftermarket kits that are out there.

That isn't an e bay turbo, that is 2 eBay pieces of cast aluminuml. That 100's of member have used with success.

These bottom ends can handle some power but the tune plays a major part in it. The 16g turbo can be pushed to about 300ish no problem if you ha e the supporting mods. . 100 shot would make it a beast. Wet kit is the way to go

I would not even mess with the nitrous. Spend your money on other upgrades instead and bump up the boost.

If you do have to get the nitrous, be sure to get a high quality setup, not one of the cheap "Fast & Furious" setups that can really damage your engine.

Why do people who have never ran nitrous always say stay away it will blow your car up especially if you get shot at blah blah blah.
N.O.S is a good brand from what I've seen. I myself am a nitrous express man can go wrong with that.

Dual stage nx kit in my ls1 camaro ive ran over 50 bottles.
single fogger nx kit in my 1g about to go direct port about 10 bottles so far. Doing winter build to hold more boost and juice.

I wouldn't bother with it honestly. The 16g turbo spools stupid fast anyway. Just seems like its just more things to possibly go wrong. Why don't you just up the boost more on the 16g?

Nothing wrong with nitrous as long as you stay within the limits of the engine to begin with. She will want to run to the red line stupid fast is all I can say. Used to run it on a V-8 Chevy Vega....felt like I had an extra engine in it and it was running a 'vette 327cid with approx 450 ponies before the "drugs". Now I have 3 different kits, a fogger, a set HP plate and an adjustable plate for various "toys" us boys have around the house. :D

The minimum safe engagement rpm is usually 2500. Any lower and you can bend rods. And they have fail safe systems that shut the nitrous flow off if a low/no fuel flow condition is detected.

I ran nitrous on an Rx7. Very soon after I added the spray I had to replace my clutch. It was fun. For about a minute. IMHO forget the NOS. Tune for boost. Boost is best. :)

My 2015 build included a HX40 also, its sitting on my floor until my head is finished at the machine shop. They take up alot more room in the engine bay but are a great upgrade, I can't wait to get it all together and see how much different it feels compaired to my 20G. Good luck with the build!

To the op you said 25 shot because you thaught a 16g was pushing it on bottom end. You couldnt be more wrong and right! If you cant tune then yes a 16g can cause major problems if uping boost if still stock boost your all good. Now if you can tune and do it good you can push that turbo pretty far. There are people breaking the 10 second barrier with stock bottom ends.

4G63=ABSOLUTE BEAST

My father in law doubted my 1g when i was building it (hx35 built motor and trans link v3) he said that little 2.0 wouldnt handle a cummins turbo regardless of how i built the internals LOL i never showed him like shep or rau or anyone fast till after i took him for a ride and he couldnt believe the sound coming from my exhaust at idle (only delta 264s) and he was amazed how hard it threw him into his seat he had a old 67 dart swinger he said in his day that was fast and he said he wouldnt have had a chance and he will think twice before ever trying to race a dsm!
