I've got a couple questions for those of you who have these parts, or even if you don't you may know.
I'm upgrading my entire exhaust system. Headers & downpipe, catalytic converter, and cat-back exhaust. I want to increase everything to 2.5", not just the cat-back, I want every part from the collector back to be 2.5". I've got my 2.5" muffler/tip, and 2.5" high-flow cat, and my friends at the local garage are custom fabbing my cat-back with 2.5" stainless. But I'm getting sick of eBay's false advertizing and incorrect dimensions.
I've bought three sets of headers in the past month, each time asking the sellers to confirm their measurements and what not, but it's always one thing or another that is wrong. Here's what I wanted: 4-1 or 4-2-1, two-piece, direct flanged connection between them, ceramic coated, and 2.5" diameter out of the headers and all the way to the cat. Finally on my third purchase, I got all my criteria satisfied but one... a 4-1 ceramic coated header with a direct flanged connection to the downpipe. But the header outlet is barely more than 2.25" and then it gets smaller. As soon as the exhaust passes into the downpipe it is squeezed down to 2"..... All three headers I've bought have a tiny 2" downpipe. Now, I'm sick of trusting these companies to sell me the right parts. I can either grind out the collecter outlet from 2.25" to 2.5" and try to have my shop fabricate a 2.5" downpipe to match, or I can just sell all this junk and buy a more expensive product I know will be correct.
So, without wasting any more time and space, can anyone tell me with 100% confidence that the real DC Sports 4-2-1 ceramic header is 2.5" all the way back to the cat? Or the OBX 4-1 ceramic header? There's got to be a quality set of headers that doesn't cram my exhaust through a 2" pipe, I just can't find it.
Thanks, and sorry this post is so long. Just wanted to explain in detail my problem.
