n/a manual tranny + turbo clutch set and flywheel?

Started own thread cause in the old subject I cannot change the topic...

Anyway, i accidentaly ordered act 2100 clutch kit and act flywheel, and they are to turbo engine. I know turbo clutch is 225mm and n/a is 215mm. And read that flywheel of turbo would be too big for n/a tranny ?

Can I use any of these or will I have to sell these parts and get some other set ?
If so, what would be the best option for my 1994 fwd n/a tranny (engine is under project and is going to be turbo with ab. 300-350hp), clutch/flywheel sets.... ?

You need to send that clutch kit back and order one for the nt transmission. The flywheels are not only smaller, but different in design as well.
 
Just came from garage, and My n/a flywheel is excatly the same size as the ACT i have for 7bolt engine. So no problems with that, clutch is only 10mm bigger than in n/a and pressure plate only slightly bigger in the act set than the stock one.

I think i can get those fitted right in my n/a tranny. Maybe eurospec eclipse n/a have different kinda of tranny setup, if usdm flywheels are different size...
 
eurospec eclipses has the f5m31 tranny and not the f5m22 i have heard that you could use the fwd turbo clutch but never got it verified, so did you use it or not ?

Haven't yet gotten to that point where I will assembly clutch and flywheel...
I will let you know and take some pics as soon as I get it done..
 
With an F5m31 tranny you have to use the turbo fwd flywheel and clutch, if you have the f5m22 though you must use the 2.0nt clutch and flywheel.

Why cant you use the n/t clutch on the f5m31 flyweel?
both are 215 mm clutches
is the flyweel different ?

I already have ACT2100 Clutch set with 225mm clutch + flywheel.

The f5m31 flywheel has a riser that mounts the pressure plate above the actual surface of the flywheel, the f5m22 flywheel is perfectly flat (save for the pressure plate locating pins) and mounts the pressure plate on the exact same plane as the actual surface for the clutch disc.

That and the flywheel's are also different diameters. The f5m22 being the smallest, f5m33(awd) being next, and then just a bit larger is the f5m31 fwd flywheel. The difference in flywheel size can lead to things such as the clutch pressure plate actually rubbing inside the bellhousing or the starter won't engage the flywheel's ring gear correctly.

Also the clutches are different between 2.0nt and turbo engines. The turbo clutches are larger to accomodate that step height you may have read about, since the nt's don't have a step height to worry about their diaphragm is smaller.
