Sarnia,
Hey guys.
So the car is on the road after the auto swap and all was well for a while.
There seems to be a noise developing in the engine.
Once the car is warmed up the noise is more pronounced, it is not LOUD but its there. I cant for the life of me figure out whats making this noise and wanted some opinions. It seems loudest under the car near the transmission bell housing.
The noise is very similar to what a small kubota diesel sounds like. Similar to piston slap, but louder when warm rather than cold. Ive used a stethescope and I cannot pinpoint the noise with the probe.

This is a relatively new build (approx 5000 kms on it) It is a g4cs 2.4L six bolt with manley rods, wiseco pistons. Balance shafts REMOVED. This clickity clackity noise might even be normal? Hopefully someone has chased this before.

Any opinions or suggestions would be appreciated.

To me that sounds like Rod knock.
So your have balance shafts?

It is a g4cs 2.4L six bolt fairly new build with wiseco pistons and manley rods. The balance shafts have been removed. Im not saying your wrong, its just that this noise sounds more clickity clackity rather than a steady rhythm you get from rod bearings. the noise is most noticable sitting at idle. Its not really loud YET.

Torque converter and flexplate bolts all tight and no broken webs in the flexplate?

Kiggly flexplate, buschur locks. I just took a look none of the bolts are loose for sure, flexplate looks ok.

I have considered dropping the pan to check the rod bearings.
With the work week fast approaching, I may do it next weekend.
I too, Have lost a few rod bearings over the years, this just sounds different, It totally could be just a different sounding rod bearing, I wont discount that. I appreciate your help.

I realize its hard to tell via video, the sound that the video produces is exactly as it sounds under the car.
