Well I finished puttig my stuff back on after cleaning lifters, now car wont turn over. I did rotate the engine while putting rockers back on to get clearance is there something else to do after that? IF timing is off car will not turn over right? How do i get it back on right? I hope it is my timing, I believe so cuz every thing else is fine. Just I dont know bout timing. I rotated engine by little nut on side of the cam. Do I need to ave the cam or dowel a certain way for it to start?

Make sure your timing marks are lined up. There should be a line on each cam, line them facing each other. Also make sure you are at TDC (Top Dead Center) on the the bottom end. If you have any more problems, i suggest invest money on a book from o'reily or autozone. Messing with the head is not a smart idea, if you do not know what you are doing. A very costly mistake if timing is off.

what do u mean crank? the timing belt was not removed any instructions or pictures on how to adjust the timing belt back thank you come again

:| if you didnt remove the timing belt then dont worry about that....you probably somehow blew a fuse or some shit...check your ignition fuses and see if thats the problem...and im assuming the car turns over but does not fire, correct?

You cleaned your Lifters therefore most likely they inflated themselves, so they are holding your valves open just enough so that the valves will not seal giving you 0 compresion. I would be willing to bet if you check compresion you wont have any. What you can do to deflate them is let them sit in your car fully assembled for 3-5 hrs then they will most likely deflate themselves. Just some advice but if you didnt remove the belt then timing isnt your problem most likely.

No hey have been there fully assembled for 12 hours straight and still no turnb. Well it does want to turn i mean when you try to iginite it will go chuga chuga chuga and maybe hear the muffler on for less than a sec. but it will not turn completely on you know? Thsi si what happened:Well I cleaned lifters using the vfaq.com technique. But when we didnt have clearance we turned or rotating the cams using the sproket bolt on the side of the cam gears. After we finished the routine. We just put everything back together. Before it would turn on and knock. But now it will go chuga chuga chuga and wont turn over. Maybe once we will hear the muffler turn on, but right back off in less than a second. We tried rotating the cams in every position and giving it another crank but nothing. This is whats going on.

Did you make sure all fuel lines are good and clean? Check your spark plugs too. Double check the whole engine.

Is there a fuel line connected to the valve cover the hose that is connected on the top left of it is that one?

That is a not a fuel line, that is a vacuum line that actually the engine uses for excess oil, which i know is really bad cuz the oil recirculates through the intake again. That would not be the problem, the engine should run fine with that hose on or off, but again, i would just double check everything that you have put back together.

oh sorry, didnt real close enough, TOP left, that is your pcv valve. That really shouldnt be the problem either though

Where are my igintion fuzes? What is the way the dowel pins on timing belt should be at start up? IF my rockers were off would car still turn but not start? And which way is the spark plug wires supposed to be? Might of messed up but no way to tell now? Thanks!

Fuses are under hood and under dash. If rockers were off I think it would screw your cams. Spark plugs just need to be in right slots, you should have marked before takign off to make sure.

How do I know if it is my starter? How do i take it off to get it tested?
If I recall autozone tests them for you, just take it in. Also do you have a shop manual? Might be handy considering the many questions you have.
