Here's the thing about eBay, and I dont mean to say that he isn't telling the truth, only the reason why I don't trust it:
He can say whatever he wants to say, claim whatever he wants to claim, in the end, he is just a username on eBay with very little at stake if he gets caught in a lie. If that happens, he starts a new account with a different name, changes the appearance of his ads a bit, and he's back in business. With shops like JMF, Magnus, SBR, AMS, etc there is accountability. If a reputable vendor gets caught misrepresenting their products, or the products of another vendor, they will lose a lot more than a one man operation running out of a garage, so I tend to trust their numbers/claims more than I would eBay. Also, if he can't realize how to turn off the caps lock key, I'm not so sure I trust his welding abilities . There's also the fact that these blatant knockoff ebay parts (if JMF really wanted to spend the legal expenses this guy would definitely be guilty of copyright/patent infringement, if JMF actually secured the rights to their design, which I suspect they did) are running the only true innovators of the DSM community into the ground. Then again, that's a whole different story, for a different thread. Sorry, /rant.

LIKE I SAID....I do not support Ebay...I GOT THIS FOR $150....do you blame me?

I actually jus placed an order throught JM fab yesterday for a couple of things

God people stop being a bunch of cheap bastards and buy the real shit. #### e-bay! It's shit like that thats causing shit like Trust/Greddy to go out of buisness. Jesus.... Besides the REAL shit is normally always better. And then your supporting the automotive industry insted of slowly picking it a part to save $50.

Shit it's not like I am made of money either. I am in the army and our pay is pretty crappy. But I save up for the quality name brand parts I want.

Thats partly why it has taken me so long to get to just where I am at with the car but, taking your time and using quality parts I think is better than rushing shit and using cheap knock offs.

Besides that like I said, um Trust/Greddy, and other major auto parts companies are going under or bearly staying in buisness and it's because of shit like this. These knock off parts, yea guess who did the R&D the brand name companies. If they go under, then guess what. No more parts. Or at the very least it takes longer to get the type and quality of part you want.

Exactly. If people keep buying the knock offs, there won't be any new parts because it won't be cost effective to invest in the development of something new, just to have it ripped off in China in 48 hours. F knock offs, but for $150 I would have bought it too

Damn everyone is on their soap box today. Get off your high horses. Should you not work on your own car? Because if you are working on your own car you are not supporting so and so's shop.Maybe it will allow some of these shops to lower some of their prices a bit to stay more competitive.

I want pics of the inside of it, I ant it tested for flatness on the flange, i want the angles examined (dosnt look lke the exact same angles as the jmf one, and a link would be nice

I have a smim that cost me $70 and was made by a local shop, i dont feel like i was ripping off the big names but just supporting a DIFFERENT product and trying it out for the price, simple as that. Now if you really want a jmf intake and find one just like it, you SHOULD buy the name brand one, if you want to try something new go with an independent design but not a knock off

Ya but they are marking there stuff up so much. We all know how the industry is. 400% give or take mark ups. Ebay stuff is marked up at a low percent. Some stuff you can say will work better with a name brand but thinks like this how could a name brand be any better. IT is sheetmetal welded together.

same as JM fab velocity stacks and all

Not likely. Pics of the runner entrance inside the plenum? This looks like a copy of their old version, not the current one with the CNC'ed runner inlets and head flanges.

I agree with everyone else, support real vendors and boycott the scum that are knocking them off or else you're gonna see alot more companies going under. The "I dont support ebay but I got it for $150" BS just makes you a hypocrite.

ROFL, if you really think people are making 400% you're nuts. There's barely any profit any more because all the legit vendors have to keep lowering their prices to compete with the online whorehouses. Take a top level $1k tubular exhaust manifold. There's about $300+ just in materials, and a good 10 hours of welding to make one. Do you have any clue what a good welder makes these days? The people running most of these shops aren't multi-millionaires, sitting around lighting cigars with $100 bills laughing at their customers. They're hard working people who are busting their asses every day trying to be innovative and bring quality products to their customers.

As for a knock-off being as good as the real thing, watch this video then tell me you're getting that kinda quality for $150:

YouTube - JM Fabrications How It's Made--Intake Manifold

Well maybe is Greddy and HKS wasnt so0o over priced....I mean damn...if you buy a GT35R from garrett you pay what? $1200...if you buy the same turbo from HKS or Greddy you pay over $2000

I didnt even pay for this...I trade $150 H&R drop springs....so0o it cost me $150....get off my damn back

Jesus....Im sorry....ok...Stop riding my a s s.....get off my back....I traded parts with some one..didnt buy it...give me a freakin break....

I totally support the vendors and make frequent orders....I about to spend $2400 with GVAUTOSPORT on a s366 and thier divided t3 exhaust manifold...NOT A EBAY MANIFOLD OR EBAY TURBO.....

I totally agree with you guys about support the vendors and buying product that have been tested....

I only posted this to see what the results were....if it held up and how much power it makes....for all you know this could help him become a reputable vendor....everyone has to start somewhere right...

JM Fab didnt jus wake up one day...open a Buisness and by day 2 have a reputable company...it takes time

JM Fab didnt jus wake up one day...open a Buisness and by day 2 have a reputable company...it takes time

The difference is JMF didn't get their start by ripping off someone else's product. And to many locals they were "reputable" before they even had a shop, back when Jim was doing work out of his garage.

Ok...well what about people buying used parts....thats not supporting vendors...because thier not getting the money........some one buys thier product once....and then it gets sold 3 times...

LET ME SAY THIS AGAIN.....I didnt buy this....I trade some Drop springs for it....can anyone blame me?....I mean come on...anyone would who needs a SMIM would have done the same thing in my position....

I totally would rather have a JM fab SMIM on my car....and in a couple of months I will probably sell this and buy the JM FAB DRAG VERSION

I get the point .....just drop it

and by the far far way, dont get frustrated about the ####ing ass sucking replies that some have made to you like: buy good brand and you have to respect blabla and ebay some shit. anyway i fabricate all what im able to by myself and get some assfull results with it. peopleare just jealous because they dont have the knowledge to fabricate pieces and paid full price for it. so what.... its like if your buying an universal IC piping kit and make it perfectly fit by yourself, its bad cause you havent buy a full '' fit to model '' piping kit that was sold for your car. #### that my own piping is better than every good brand one that can be make. but anyway. everybody with good skills are able to make some awesome stuff like the guy who fabricate your SMIM

Exactly....jus Like the Solid motor mounts I fab'd instead of buying Prothans....and Jus like the Spark plug cover and heat shield I made instead of buy JM fabs.....and jus like the tubular control and A arms I made....And I am about to make my own Divided T3 Manifold....materials cost about $175

People will never bi*** you out for making your own products for your car, its when you knowingly buy a product that blatantly rips off one of the vendors who has done a lot for this community that people get annoyed. It also probably has to do with the whole Trust bankruptcy thing. I agree that a lot of the Japanese tuning houses are way overpriced (unlike many of their American counterparts), but still to have a giant like Trust go under is a little scary.

Price and competition are the name of the game and part of the foundation of this country is based on free enterprise. Telling some one to only buy HKS/GREddy etc.. is like trying to tell a contractor to not take the lower bid to increase his profits. I get underbid and lose painting jobs all the time because a mexican crew underbid me by thousands, and this makes me poor'er than i already am so i too would be buying the fleabay 150 dollar intake before i buy the 500 dollar one from some one else because this same free enterprise has cost me profits as well. All one can do is look into more ways to diversify and continue growing their business and expanding into new fields to make more money..and it forces us to lower prices to stay competitive (even if we are higher quality, that's not what always wins the bid)

So stop hounding the man for getting a good deal, and unless you can convince the world to stop using illegal immigrants for "cheap labor", get use to the idea of people making near similar products a LOT cheaper than the big name manufacturers and selling the crap out of them.

I'm anxious to see how the manifold performs, and although they may not be made one by one on a CNC mill, i'm sure they havesome quality control to at least insure they fit and are probably cut in huge runs on a waterjet which is still very precise but can cut many more flanges/parts in one go without having to change out the material block for each part. This is how i have my flanges cut and i can have 5 of them made on a waterjet for less than the cost of having 1 cut on the CNC mill.

Thanx TURBOGLENN...lemme kno if you need anything fab'd....we've talked a couple times before

I did take it to my machine shop and check the flatness of the flange and it was as good as it gets

I am currently waiting on my clutch to come in hopefully it will be here by thursday next week...then All I need is some motor oil and tranny fuild....

And I can start some testing
