Since I cant post this in the fab threads I'll just post it here.

Just wanted to see what you guys thought of my manifold set up. Made it from sch. 10 stainless fittings. I'm waiting to get the engine in my car to see how much room I have for the wastegate. I'm going to run a HX40 with the bullseye turbine housing. The HX40 in the pictures isn't mine, its my buddies.

Omg im sorry a cut-off wheel, How many blades did you go through? Stainless wipes then out fast right? If you can afford it the tubing belt notcher is the way to go for making the collector, But that thing is like 4k, It make's things go a lot faster, I can knock out the collector in about an hour, A good hand or wheel grinder will save a lot of time, Collector pieces are the hardest thing I think and so time consuming, The collector pieces I start off in the chop saw to try and get things going. How many hours total do you have in that one? And your tig weld's look good, How long have you been welding for? http://mtechsupply.com/display.php3?getcategory=Tube+Notchers

Yeah it sucks cutting them out with a cut-off wheel. I think I went through only 2 or 3 wheels though. I don't even know how many hours I had total in making the collector...maybe 6-8? A lot of that was using a carbide bit cleaning and smoothing the inside of it. I've been welding for about 4 years now. I took Chasis Fab. and High Performance engines at a well known tech school, but we wont get into how much of a joke that was :banghead: :ohdamn: :barf:

im looking into doing this my self as well. did you just get the tubing at your local metal shop? or did u order bends somewhere? and good job on that manifold. im a tig welder for a living so i know the time involved in this keep up the good work

I got the fittings and straight lengths at Ace Stainless

Where do you work? I would love to get a job welding. Right now I'm a body man/painter at an auto body shop. Not exactly what I want to do the rest of my life!

I just realized you're from Beavertown, we go to BSD all the time! Maybe you'll see my car there this year, I definitely want to get some test and tune in with it this year

haha wow i didnt even see you were from muncy i work rite there along old route 15 in new columbia at thermal product solutions. im hoping to have my build done by spring time also.

No LOL as in if you were to make a manifold like this, but in a T4....I would buy it

Im just wondering about the structural integrity with no bracing and running a turbo as big as that one is.

looks good how long from start to finish? you make o2's also?

I'm gonna say maybe 12 hours of work time to make it? I'm sure I could probably make some o2 housings as well

sir you are talented :applause:

I LIKE IT..

Thanks, I appreciate it :thumb:

I was actually looking at this today, I may run a brace off the collector flange to one of the exhaust studs

Any manifold making/purchasing needs to be taken off line. The OP is not a Supporting Freelancer or Vendor.

Not a problem :thumb:

twin scroll or not.... great job!, looks amazing.

Thanks, I'm pretty sure the next one that I'm making for a friend of mine is going to be T4 Twin scroll :D

Just so you dont think I'm talking out of my butt,Here's some pics of the one that i did 2 years ago out of mild steel,I did it out of mild because i was on a budget at the time,I think my next manifold is going to be a top mount one , I think the top mounts looks better, I think the flow rate is about the same depending on the length of the tubes and the od and id, what to see if this one is going to hold up first.Oo I'm not trying to steal your customers its just nice to see someone else fabian here.
