My DSM project

So, after a long time of owning what is basically a 1993 TSi AWD shell, I'm finally about to get it running.

I bought the car in 2006'ish for $300 and it came with no interior (another parts car for an interior swap) and did not run. I decided instead of just putting it back together and getting the car running it would be my project car.

So here's some pictures of the accumulation of parts. I don't really have pictures of the car, but I'll take some this weekend. It's basically sitting with a full interior now and a shortblock on the tranny. This car is automatic by the way.


Manual shift box

Old fuel system (Pro-classic lines, fuel lab filter, and 1200cc injectors that got sold for my new -10an setup, with 1600cc injectors)

Web Camshafts

Valve cover, fittings welded for catch can

My SMIM, fidanza cam gears, and kevlar t-belt

Little A1000 fuel pump

Couple pics of the engine almost finished... Gotta cut the motor mount bracket and remove the rest of the front bracket. Along with the t-belt of course.

Well, new fuel system is here... Along with a couple other parts.

Still have to get the stall made, have the intercooler piping fabricated (once the engine and trans go back into the car), and do a couple of other little odds and ends things.

My COP setup will be here, eventually, it has apparently gotten lost in transit.

Why fittings in the front of your VC?

I bought it from someone else, why exactly it was done this particular way I'm not sure... But it looks like it was supposed to be made that way (as in from the factory) in person.

It seems like your exhaust would really get those catch can lines HOT. Nice though. Looks like it will be a beast.

I think the person who did it or had it done put them infront by mistake. I sure you wouldnt really have a problem but if they were on the back or pass side of the VC would be better.

There's plenty of room and the lines aren't really going to get that hot. There was a reason he placed them there, I'm sure. I'm not going to take the time to get into a theoretical explanation though.

I think it should be quick, we'll see though.

JE pistons, eagle rods, a crankshaft , web 272 cams (probably about to go K272 or 280, haven't decided yet), ferrea valves, fidanza gears, arp studs, BSEK, and a few other things I'm sure I'm forgetting.

Well, looks like I'm about to be selling the WEBs for a set of Kelford's. I haven't decided if I want to go with their 272's or 280's yet, but I'm sure I'll figure it out soon enough.

Also going to be picking up a set of Kiggly Beehives and Kiggly flexplate.

And a little update, my SparkTech COP setup came in. It's such an awesome piece, I can't wait to actually use it
