Ok so lately when my caris cold in the morning and I start it up, it hs trouble starting ad makes a schreeching kinda noise when it does, I thought this might be becasue my clutch doesnt go in all the way i think im not sure, but what im worried about is that when i push the clutch pedal in and let off really fast it kind sticks then pops out really quick, it doesnt stick to where it stops the goes out though. It starts up fine when it is warm and doesnt make that noise either but the clutch still does that, the clutch is stock with 73k on it and it didnt feel very great when i bought the car and i havent exactly been nice to it. Any thoughts on what the problem is?

Also I dont want to start another thread so who would be the most reliable to buy a evo3 16g from? Someone who has bought one giving the info would be appreciated.

First off check to make sure your master sylinder is full. Then if it is, try bleeding out the clutch system. It really sounds like you are losing you master cylinder, or slave cylinder, but bleed the system out with new fluid first to see if that helps.

As for buying an Evo III 16G, I have bought them from Slowboy, Buschur, MachV, DSMotorsport, and a couple other big DSM vendors, and have had no problems with any of them.

My cars clutch pedal also did/does that. For a while it was real bad, but I was able to adjust the pedal a bit to get rid of the "stick" it seemed to have. I still have it know, but very minimal.

As far as the schreeching, check your belts... Mine did that all the time when it was cold, check all your accesory belts and tension/replace as needed. I just replaced all of mine and it did away with the squealing.

Feel free to ask anymore questions!

i can help with the screeching, but not teh clutch

my car would squeel/screech no matter if it was cold or warm and it would do it especially with the a/c on. At first i thought it was time to replace balance shaft belt and or timing belt. Turns out my car didnt have the stock belts but some other ones taht got loose. The mechanic just tightened my timing belts which took him like 1 min. adn the screeching went away.

it's kind of coming back now, i guess i just have to replace my timing belts to what they SHOULD be so they fit properly.

Your timming belt was kinda loose was it. I think if it was slippping and screeching then you had bigger problems.

Do check you belts alternator, ps, ect.

it isnt coming from the belts, i was thinking the starter but i dont know where the starter is, it sounds like its coming from somewhere on the left side of the engine below the engine. Only when its cold out it seem to wont start, i heard something that if the clutch pedal wasnt engaging properly the starter would screech and not want to start.

I had the same problem clutch sticking to the floor it happens a lot with mitsubishi I have a friend w/ a 3000 and they went to a local auto store and bought a rebuild kit for the slave and master cylinders around $15-$20 and saved them 100 bucks it has something to do with a ring that wears out quickly and causes the slave to leak fuilds.

Your starter is on the passenger side, on the back side of the engine. where you are describling is the location of the starter.

Can you elaborate on what you mean by "Not starting when it's cold"?
Is the starter spinning? Does it almost start? Does nothing happen at all?
Just to eliminate some possibilities:
When starting, does it happen both when you have it in gear and out of gear?
If your clutch line has a leak or if your clutch is bad, it could be either have an air pocket in the line (That eventually gets worked out through the day, but reappears over night), If it's not fully engaging in the AM, that could be the issue and it's all related.

One way you might at least narrow it down further it is to do the clutch pedal/starter mod where you can then start your car without having to press in the clutch. I haven't done it myself, only because I know I will forget to take it out of gear and slam into something some day...
But at least then you will know if it happens again in the AM, it has nothing to do with the clutch... And will have to look into other areas.

Good luck!:thumb:

Alright, im positive its coming from the starter now, when I try to start it in the morning it just kinda makes that screechy grinding noise and doesnt turn over at all, today i pumped the clutch pedal in and out like 7 or 8 times before starting it and it turned over but still made that noise a little. Can i have a link to the clutch mod?

sounds like the throw out bearing. Mine use to do the same thing.

Could be.

DSM-Talon-John, is the noise sound more like a chatter? If so, then its the TOB as vengerfreak said.

TOB is easy to replace, just getting at it is a pain the ass, as you have to pull the tranny (good time to upgrade clutch if you plan on modding)
