my car wont rev at all

i have a 90 eagle talon it smokes black and idles at 2000 rpm and wont let me rev up at all it spits and pops idk what to do?

check your mass air flow sensor connection..

i did i unplug and played with and replaced the mass air flow sensor

no it looks like i have a crack in the mantifold thought

high idle is usually a vaccuum leak but can be alot more then that.. the not reving and black smoke could be a combo of things.. are all your gauges normal ?

go there, go to intake, scroll almost all the way down, and you'll find "intake leak tester" go there it will tell you everything you'll need and how to make one. it'll cost you less then 10 bucks and it's easy.

wouldnt it throw a check engine light

well whatever it is is throwing a crapload of fuel into the engine and little to no air.. its running waaaaaaaaaaaaaay to rich.. thats what the black smoke is and thats why it wont rev.. do you have a safc or anythign you messed with fuel.. could be a vaccuum leak too if its bad enough

yea when i hit the gas it goes to 7 psi

i say check for boost leak.. intercooler piping .. cracked bov .. any type of leak can make this go crazy.. my bov cracked and i couldnt go over 2000 rpms..

agreed, when I put my fmic on, one of my pipes came out of a coupler, and My car wouldn't rev either, if you need a bov or piping, I still have all my stock stuff.

i just bought the car and it has been sitting for a while i did a tune up and put a mass air flow sensor on it i have another car but the wireing hareness is messed up and have some good parts on it i will check for vaccum leaks thanks guys i will get back with yall
