Ok, I've always had this problem ever since I had the car. I believe the shocks are blown. (obviously...ROFL) But, ever since this week, the car got louder and louder over bumpy roads and would squeak and creak when I turn the steering wheel. It is pretty embarrassing if you ask me..:coy:

But anyway, I tried fixing the squeaking creaking because I thought it was the lower ball joint and various other joints by spraying liquid white lithium into the torn rubber boot. (temporary)

It made it a bit better but, was still there and still annoying.

I was searching and I came about the lower ball joints being so dry that it caused the symptoms I have with my car. I have torn boots and the lubricant could be long from gone. You guys think its a combination of the shocks and the lower ball joints?

Up and down for the shocks and side to side for the lower ball joints?

Correct me if I'm wrong. I only see lowering springs on your profile. I don't see any shorter or performance strut. The first springs I put on my car were those same springs. My car was slammed! My car bounced a lot. The stock struts do not have any dampening capability at that low of a drop. Your struts at this point aren't doing anything but holding your suspension together. Your springs are doing all the work of the suspension. And I would/could imagine those stock struts are well past their prime/blown. When I took mine out to put in the Toikikos I could easily compress the stock struts by hand. There was little to no resistance. No oil dampening. Age combined with having the car slammed killed them. The Toikikos aren't well liked but they aren't terribly expensive and have performed admirably! The dampening section of the strut is able to function on a lowered DSM. Funny thing, they also still work in the winter with the stock springs on

I do have stock shocks but, turning wouldn't apply to the shock squeaking or creaking only actions that are up or down. Yeah, I am going to raise the car to stock height so yeah. I am done with lowered cars. :nono:

Anyway, I uploaded my video! :thumb: See what you guys think. I can feel the lower lateral control arm vibrate as the wheel turns.
 
An AWD 2G has 2 actual ball joints per side one on the lateral control arm and one on the compression control arm. Either one or both is bad. Great video. Pictures or video help so much! Also check the steering rack endjoints. Again another pivot. I don't remember the exact name for them. It's late I put my manual away for the night.

Yeah, the lateral control arm is the one where vibration and noise is coming from. I am going to get both lateral arms replaced tomorrow.

i just got the same problem!

Started out as just a squeal going over bumps, but tonight pulling into my apt complex it makes that squeal turning left or right.

The entire front suspension is under 10kmi old replaced UCA, LCA, Laterals, Inner and Outer tie rod ends. This particular side is a koni yellow with unknown mileage (thus why i figured blown).

Going to get it on jacks tomorrow and have a looksee. Have ~40mi each way to work before though..........wish me luck! (JK, im not really worried LOL).
 
FIXED

mine was lateral control arm ball joint.

got under it, had a buddy move the wheel left and right (both wheels up in the air......) and stuck my ear to both the lateral and lower control arms. Lower was there, but not as bad as the lateral.

Kragens/Orielly's has them for $42 each.
