I would definitely part it out. I'm sure in addition to the stock motor, little misc parts that you can get rid of cheap add up. Sell the ECU, any after market gauges you may have, I'm sure someone out there wouldn't mind having seats if they're in good shape and other interior panels. You can easily make the $300 back

Glad your buddy is ok. But a stock 97 Spyder with 100K miles is worth a little more than a grand... Trade in value in fair condition is a little over 4K and trade in values are lower than private party values... I'd have your buddy give you private party blue book and give him the title and let him part it out to make some of his money back.

I only paid $800 for the car.... I know it is worth 4-6 thousand dollars.... All together i got about 1100 in the car. My friend doesnt have any money and im lucky his momma is giving me the 1k. Im hoping for 2k left over after i pay the 300..... Maybe 1300 from parting it out is a lil excessive tho. I can hope. If i can get 2k ill be right back in the scene for another DSM. Not a convertible this time..... I need my AWD back. My last two DSM were both under a 1k and both had transmission "problems" that ending up being very easy and cheap to fix. I am sure if i wait patiently i will find a suitable replacement. Maybe even one with a bad engine for extra cheap, that way i can use my spyder engine.

I was asleep when they knocked so i was not completely aware. I had let my friend borrow it. I knew he had it, but no he didnt tell me wreck it. The police were at my car making there report, when they knocked on my door. I swear sometimes you people look into things to deep.

I did not say it was stolen.
