my 97 gst vs my friends wrx

well lets make this short, on nj turnpike tonite after my soccer game. my friend comes up beside me in his wrx. looks at me and gives the signal to go, we count down and we are off from a roll at 55 mph. I thought he was going to tear me a new assh@le.. BAMM we gun it, in about 1 sec my gst starts to slowly advance little faster then his, about a 1/4 of a car lenth in about 2 secs.. it was cool cus my car is stock. so is his, we both just have bov's. it was just cool betting him, we tried it again and again i beat him. he asked me if i had work down and i said no work done. he swears i was lying and i told him no i dont...we both drove home and end of story, now im going to shower and sleep happy. good nite

Good job. Finally makes ya feel good when our FWD comes in handy. Its good to know how fast your car really is. The night I installed my injectors, I went out on guess tuning and smoked a WRX. Its a good feeling to know that your time and money is really paying off.

its simple a 2WD drive car will own any AWD from a roll even if the AWD has slighty more mods. The power loss in a AWD car is significant compared to a 2WD

my awd pulls away from a first gen fwd with a 16g and no exhaust or boost gauge(BOOST CREEP!!!) no problem.

Yeah he has 227HP and you have 205HP, BUT you probably weigh a good 300 pounds less that him. Every 100 pounds saved equates to approx. 8HP gained. So you pulling slightly makes perfect sense.

Factor in that additional AWD drivetrain loss, and you have yourself a winner. =)
