ok well my friend just got a freakin s2000 cus he works at the honda dealer and so does his daddy.. well anyway, i ride in my gst, cat back 3 inch, down pipe, fpik kandn filter, got a aftermarket bov, boost gauge, short shifter, and im at 14 lbs of boosties. what do i need to do to get my car to beat him? i know i need a boost controller, but what else? was thinking of putting a intake manifold. not sure. those s2000 have some redline so i need some crap to get him.... my next question is what do u think my hp is at with my cat back, down pipe, and intake?

Go race him and find out. :thumb:

No "bench racing". Bench racing is defined as posting hypothetical questions to try and see how fast or how powerful your car is, or will be. If you want to know what time to expect at the track, whether or not your car can beat another specified car, or how much power it will have with a particular modification (or mod list), then go to the track or the dyno and find out for sure. Do not ask for people to guess in our forums. It's pointless and it wastes space. Serious enthusiasts go out and do it, they don't talk about doing it. If you're not serious about performance, find another online community to be apart of.

Depending on the year, and how good of a driver you are, you could probably hang with him right now. You may possibly need to upgrade your turbo to take him, but again, as I said, it depends on the year and, of course, his driving ability. There are too many variables.

thanks, dont wanna break the bench racing rule anymore. guess ill find out and if i lose ill hear it from him

I am in the same situation as you except I was BONE STOCK when I raced my friends s2000. The result was UGLY he killed me from start to finish even on a ROLL still got NADA chance to hang. I just purchased my downpipe and Catback and I also have a MBC installed now so I'll be having a rematch soon. But even with basic boltons I dont think we got a chance unless u go bigger turbo.

Once he hits that VTEC its game ova for us cuz our T25 ran out Juice and he'll pull on you more and more.

You guys are kidding right? I have two friends that own s2000's. I love the cars to death and i hope to buy one some day but they are not that fast. My buddy with a silver s2k ran a 14.1 with just intake. My other buddy has a yellow s2k with a comptech supercharger. I've raced my buddy several times from a stop in the basically stock s2k and i beat him by about 1-almost 2 car lengths. I still have the stock t25 and he said once i hit 2nd he had no chance. I raced him the same day from a highway roll and he couldn't keep up if his life depened on it, i just kept on pulling. I raced my other buddy with the comptech s2k from a stop and he took me by 2 car lengths. I also had a leaky exhaust manifold at the time so my spoolup time was mcuh slower but he also has a slipping clutch and he didn't launch very hard due to the stock rear end. If your a decent driver and your buddy is a decent driver you should have no problem taking him unless your car is messed up.

Hard to believe a T25 a Pull on S2000 even with all the Boltons, maybe cuz your AWD launch help you a lot. With GST u'll be Glad hes next to you after launch cuz no way we can pull a car LENGTH on them.

Stock DSM = 15.0 average.

Stock S2k = 14.1-14.2

As a FWD dsm, you'll need i,e, and boost controller to have a fighting chance.

First off i have a fwd not awd. Second i don't have a crazy setup just bolt-ons but i do have lsd which helps ALOT. Thid have any of you guys even raced let alone driven an s2000. I was lucky enough to drive both my friends s2k's several times. I enjoyed driving them because of the electronic sterring and the amazing cornering abilities those cars have but the whole time i was driving one i was thinking how much more power and torque my car has compared to this thing. I've was messing around with a stock s2k one day and i followed him onto an entrance ramp of a highway. I couldn't keep up with him at all on the ramp but as soon as we hit the straight away i passed him no problem. We messed around quite awhile on the highway and he put up a good fight but he really had no chance.

I have a bone stock 1g fwd, and i drove my buddies acura rsx type 's'(just a hair quicker than s200 as far as i know, but same motor), and his car will destroy mine, never raced against each other, but i know it will, that vtech blows away anything stock we got

No, your setup is not crazy, but its not stock. You'd be much closer to taking an S2k than the original poster is.

ya u guys are trippin thinkin that s2ks are that fast, sure stock vs stock theyre better but they also happen to be a 30 thousand dollar car compared to 5 thousand dollar DSM :).

Advantages: obviously more power stock, 220hp, RWD, Limited Slip, maybe 500 lbs lighter, but nothing that a modded 14b or 16g couldnt sweep up.

I guess u guys are talkin about 2g FWD t-25 powered dsms so in that case u would have to have some serious mods because the t-25 is just the antichrist.

But semi-modded 1Gs wouldnt have a big problem taking an s2k.
