My 91 talon awd auto race car project

Got that Corbeau Forza Wide seat in there and its a bit too tight. It rubs on parking brake and on center console and so far wanted to leave center console in there. I am selling it to buddy who will put it into his 67 camaro. I will order Corbeau Baja JP model .It is inch narrower and has much lower sides and think will be much easier to get into and out of the car. I am also going to get a removable steering wheel setup. Not sure if get swing out on the rollbar ,see how it is to get in and out after do the new seat and removable wheel.

Hoping to get front mount intercooler this month and still not sure if pulling FP3065 off my 97 for temporary or permanent on the 91. Car can go to track anytime its ready but waiting for friend/mechanic /pit crew to come with me. We have several tracks some 1/8 and some 1/4 but all are hundred plus miles away from me.
And always change you spend money on gas, etc and then get rained out like happened end of last season.

You guys with close tracks are so lucky!
 
Yeah sounds like be lucky to make even a couple passes on the 13g. Problem with putting FP3065 on now is this engine is stock so not sure how much boost can take before head gasket goes bye bye. Also center diff is stock as well. But do have 10 and think 20 psi springs for the 3065 so maybe just put on the 10psi for now and leave it at that .Decisions ,decisions.

If you have the fuel and any tune besides a horrible one 20psi will be fine. There's a few members on here that run 30 with nothing but cams. I run 24 on mine and it's bone stock, and I have nothing to tune with.

Thanks for the compliments guys.I love the v8s of course but they don't make awd trans ams! And the talons are nice and light compared to my v8 which is likely around 4000 pounds compared to my 97 at 3100? and my 91 race talon at maybe 2700? Still have to weigh the cars at track or weigh scale.

So I could be ok running stock engine in the 91 for awhile with the FP3065? I do have arp head studs guess could put them in and of course I have good tuning and obviously good fuel support.
I am pretty sure have 20 psi spring and think have 10 or 15 psi spring as well. But have both manual and aem boost controller so got all the bases covered.

See how it goes for time maybe that FP3065 will make its way over to the 91 sooner rather than later. I will of course be pretty bored and maybe fall asleep doing 15 second or 14 second quarters. My wifes 96z28 does 14.2 at 96 and it seems super slow to me after driving the 99TT or my 97 talon. Course forgetting how fast the 97 is its been down for a few years now.
 
Update time on the 91 race car.

I have my new corbeau seat in the there. It fit better than the forza wide and is much easier to get into and out of the car with . May still install removable wheel see how it goes after rollbar install. Can't use factory belt with the new seat cut off factory seat belt attachment point it was rubbing on the seat and tearing it so cut it off.
So will put in race seat when do rollbar .

Also finished up suspension and brakes. The brakes are 2g swap ,powerslot rotors and kvr pads with stainless brake lines. Suspension is kyb agx shocks with ground control setup.They no longer make eibach pro for the 1g so this adjustable setup is good lets me set ride height where I want to.

Got new konig 16 by 7 wheels britelites with continental extreme dws tires.

Just ordered up 3.5 inch ets race fmic . Plan now to swap FP3065 from my 97 over and jm fab race intake manifold over.

Bought extra auto trans so have extra stall converter for core to send to IPT .Will be ordering shift kit, stall, end clutch and welded center diff.

Still hoping to buy manual rack or depower the current power rack. Would still like to go to 4 bolt rear and possibly add new driveshaft from dss, axles from dss and cf hood. Still likely swap in my 2.4 engine from the 97 talon next season and possibly run small shots of spray depending on how things go for spool up.

Goals are still to have a 10 second car ,not interested in 9s at all,way too much trouble at NHRA tracks. If fluke out and get one at outlaw track well whatever.
