Got the rear put back together. Tonight I will take the stock fuel tank out and get this bolted in along with the rest of the suspention.

I got the rear put back together. I ordered the rotors, regular Brembos as instructed by Kevin. Have not decided which pads to go with open for suggestions. I know this will need to be alighned and adjusted but its together. I puth the callipers in just to see how they fit. I believe the bolts that hold them on will have to be shorter because they seem to be a little long and may hit rotor. Here are some photos.

So, I believe I have spent more time doing regular maintenance than adding goodies. I took everything apart and regreased all of he bearings. Later I want to get a one piece, but this will do for now.

Im on my way to the dealer today to see if I can get the replacement hardware, like the bushings, bolt screws, and the yolks. I have found hat it is so hard trying to find things at regular auto parts stores.

Got parts ordered and pn the way. I wopuld like to have this carfinished by the summer, HeHe, yeah right. Im sure it will look more like a car by then.

Ok so I made a mistake. I forgot to mark the driveshaft before I took it apart. I guess I wioo be looking for a drivesshaft specialist to get it balanced. On the upside, I went to the dealer looking to buy the ujoints, and to my surprise they eanted over $80 each for them. So I did a little reading and found that a 1987 dodge pickup D50 is a perfect fit....who knew. I will later be swaping this thing out for a one piece, but for now its gonna go doooowwwnnn!!! :)

I rewired the harness on the msd to clean it it up , I believe you should always be considerate of others that may have to work on your car one day.

Well I got it installed. It was very confusing because I didnt know if the wireing from the coil of a 1g was different from the wireing of a 2g. I sat down with a couple books and noticed that a few wires were different colors but the ones I needed were the same. Now Im a little confused about how all this will work now that I am a 6bolt. Not even sure if my cams will work. Any who, one day at a time I will cross that bridge when I come to it.

Oh the box may not stay there so I left a lot of extra wire when I redid the harness. once the motor is in we can start to run the wires and clean it all up.

Well got the engine well ready for stripping and shaving. Just haveto remember which wholes I will need. I dont think very many of them seeing as how I have done away with a lot of the censors and vacume lines.

Today I cracked my motor open for the first time since I got it, and this is what I found. It is a piece of art.

I got what seems like the hardest side of the engine bay stripped. I would never want to do this for a living. If I did I would be unafordable.

Ok I just read the entire build thread from slipi, the guy I bought this short block from. A couple days ago I opened the oil pan for the first time since receiving the motor. I posted a pic of it on my local forum. A good friend of mine told me something was missing, scratching my head, I took a second look. Mind you I had never seen the bottom end of a 6 bolt. He informed me that the cap tie-were missing. Then I talked to user187, who also told me a while back about this motor. Humph!!!!!! Maybe I should learn to listen....LOL. But any way, I'm gonna order the jay raceing main caps tomorrow, and send the motor to the machine shop to be rebuilt and gone over with a fine tooth comb. I wish I knew what the crank was. If anyone has an ideal please let me know.

Got one side done saw a few small inperfections, but I will tend to those when it is primed. This is just etching to protect the metal. Some would not have striped it down to the metal, but it seemed the right thing to do at the time.

Almost don with the engine bay, I will be priming sometime this week. Then I will start the tucking the brake lines. I have debated about deleting the abs but I thought I should keep it. Any suggestions?
