My 1997 2gb awd talon build

As most of you already know I got screwed, but this will not hold up my build I am going out now to find the motivation to Finish the engine bay shaving.

Just got off the phone with Jeff from wiseco. The a at the beginning of the part#, designates it as a custome piston. It is built off an HD platform. They were made for Jeff at Slow Boy. He is emailing me the spec sheet. He said that one piston is fine just need to clean it up a bit. That's a good thing because I can't just have one made. So that is great news. I ordered new rings and wrist pin locks. Now for the rods.

Getting closer to finishing. I am very happy. Never could have thought that I could do this. It's not perfect, but I like it. I tried to be a little original. Which is hard with these cars, but hey why try and reinvent the wheel.

Received the new piston rings from wiseco, ( thanks Jeff ). Along with some good toilet literature swag.

Also decided to ditch that crank, no real info on it so it's got to go. I'll let you guys see what replaces it in a few weeks or so.

Dropped the pistons and exhaust manifold off to get coated today. The pistons are getting the top coated with heat treatment, the skirts are getting coated with self lub, and the underneath with oil resistance. The manifold is getting coated as well. I didn't want to, seeing as how beautiful the shearer manifolds are, but I knew it would not stay like that.

Has not been sanded yet, but I am sooooo proud. Its funny how I look at this car when I first started this build, and how far it has come. Also how much I have learned.

Got second mvs in today...thanks, you know who you are.

I got some stuff in today. First is my assortment of an fittings for vacuum, as well as the line. I thought this would look very clean. Also received fittings and line for fuel return.

Got my sirocco radiator in today as well.

AHHH!! just found this thread for the first time, and WOW... Great job on everything, your undercarriage looks better the 85% of DSMs out on the road. And those JIC's =/ so jealous, i would recommend moving this to the build threads. This thing would blow up so much faster. Also, im going to go out on a limb here and say you like RED?
