How to Tune and Modify Engine Management Systems

I also found a new option for stock mistu ECU modifications. http://www.technosquareinc.com/index.html

They desolder a non eprom ecu's processor. Place it on a daughterboard with dual eproms. Attach the daughterboard to where the processor was...

There are alot more MFG's of EMS systems than we discuss on here... Some look awesome...

Just one of them
http://www.link-electro-usa.com/products.html

I had to buy it at borders. I read like 10pages and could'nt let go... I was like :thumb: but that is'nt a thumb and those are'nt knuckles.

It has alot of information on EFI tuning in general and you can follow quite a few different projects. Basic retunes, engine swaps, twin charging (roots blower plus turbo) they had corky bell and Bob norwoods help on that one, and much more.. It is an awesome read.

I deleted in tuning and put it here because it was'nt getting read.

That V6 swap, twincharging project was SICK...

For those who have'nt seen it...

They run down AEM, Haltech, electromotive, Autronic.............. 17 different EMS systems.

I know I'm running a flying magnet crank trigger.

The Technosquare thing isn't all that new, a lot of people shy away from it simply because of the price.. Who would pay $750 just for the parts/install when they could spend $300 on an eprom ecu and $150 on a keydriver chip or $40 on an EPROM burner and burn countless EPROMs themselves?

Well...

IMHO... there are only so many eprom ECU's... If DSM link had a daughterboard system they'd have alot more buisness. Say $300 to add the daughterboard + link = the same total as IF you can find an eprom ECU...

Lets stop the pointless banter posts... Just go to a bookstore get a cup off coffee.. Start reading and see if you can go home w.o it....

Great book! I picked it up about 8 months ago when I started building my car. I especially liked the project descriptions, which allowed you to see the practical aplications of the various EMS's.

I bought it about 8 months ago also... Question; does your book have the same exact front cover lay out but with a focus where that convertable is? Kinda funny...

Good book though! I learned a lot from it and yes that supercharged, turbochraged, V6 powered MR2 is rediculous!!!! OMG

Yes it has the fucus.. Its the newest edition of the printing.
