About 5 weeks ago i stopped driving my car due to a bad clutch, shifted perfect and crisp at that time. Just got my new clutch in two days ago and back from the shop. Now i my 2nd,4th,and fifth gears feel mushy, still works but it feels weird. They said that the shifter cables are bad. How is this possible, and is it True? Also i remember i tried replacng the clutch but did it all then found out i had to take it to a shop to shim the pivot ball. In that time i found one of the shifter cables (Horizontal head one) hard to get off the bracket on the tranny, so i took a screw driver and wedged it against the tranny bracket (dont know the name, the thing that shifts the tranny) to get it off. Could it be more likely i slightly bent the shifter, or did my shifter cables really go bad just sitting for 5 weeks?

Well, the shifter cables have little rubber bushings that connect to the rods on top of the tranny...if you stuck a screwdriver in there, chances are you damaged the bushings, and your shifter feels mushy when you push into gears....."IF" they are damaged, just replace the rubber inside the ends, with more solid ones (aluminum) or polyurethane ones

Please elaborate, the feeling a little bit more...if its not what im saying, then I understood it wrong

Forgot to mention I did the bearing mod and replaced them
with metal bearings. Also did the symborski kit mod as well. First and third are perfect.
