First, I will apologize for the multiple posts I have, but I have a new set of problems. Question first, should i/c pipes get hot? I put a small 16g on yesterday and found a kink in a hose and a boost leak today. I fixed those and noticed some other issues now. #1 hot i/c pipes (might be normal, not sure though). #2 when I shut off my car I could here a noise for about 3 seconds, it sounded like the turbo rotating still. It sounded like a bearing noise, not grinding or anything, just could here it turning (not sure it's the turbo making the noise) #3 when I shift (mainly in 5th) it feels like it's gooey? It's like the fluid is mud. The fluid looks ok, and it drove with no issues before, so I don't know. This all was noticed after installing the other turbo. May all be unrelated, but the noise and shifting is new. I'm not sure on the i/c pipes as I had not checked them before.

Sorry, forgot to add that oil pressure is normal, engine temp is normal, and the oil feed line to the turbo is pretty warm, so I know there is oil getting to the turbo

My i/c pipes got hot closer to engine bay... but thats normal. Never noticed lower piping being too hot. Try using some heat wrap... Come to think of it... it should not get crazy hot...

As for 5th gear... Change tranny fluid. Or it could be the synchros... that would not be good.

Noise is probably ecu shutting off. Wouldn't be to worried

ECU noise from the engine bay? Thank you soooo much for the reply. It really sounded like the noise was coming from the turbo (area), I won't worry too much on the i/c piping. I just thought it was strange it all kind of happened at one. Seen stranger stuff though. I just checked the turbo also, and still has zero shaft play, nice and tight. I did see some oil in the intake pipe, but I guess a little bit is normal. Wheel on the compressor looks good too. :banghead: I just hope all is ok. Got an mbc on the way to go to 14 psi on the turbo, and kind of scared of upping it at all now.

next time try to let your car idle and let the turbo cool down a bit to see if the noise still occurs. And do you have a Aftermarket BOV?....

as far as your intercooler pipes... where exactly are they getting hot? closer to motor (and turbo) or like up by the intake manifold? i've never noticed them getting hot at all but i've also never put my hands near this motor when it was hot because it was always REALLY hot. the noise you hear that sounds like the turbo still spinning, it very well may be. like freestyling said, let your car sit and idle for about a minute, minute and a half to let it cool down... don't just shut it off right away. because if it's still spinning, and your motor's not running, no oil to the turbo... no oil to the turbo = bad. and as far as a squishy 5th, i haven't got a clue. i don't mess with manual's too much so i can't comment on that. i would say maybe check the clutch itself (flywheel, pressure plate, blah blah blah) and make sure it's not worn. i understand this can be quite a job, but if you do it, and nothing's wrong with it, then you know :)

well. don't spend the money if you don't have to. just letting the car run for a teeny bit after you park it is A) free :p and B) the same thing. the only thing a turbo timer will do is shut it off when it's done LOL.

Turbo timer = 2 mins of idling after normal driving with automatic shut off... Depending on make, also acts as 0-60 timer and digi tach...

If its the turbo spinning... that is not a problem. If you still hear it after shutting off, that might be a problem. I had a big 16g setup and NEVER had this issue.

5th gear issue... RBWTRANS... PM him. Great guy. He is the one that did my first install (16G) Very knowledgable on trannys and DSM overall

TXGST... I've seen a couple of posts from you. Let me know if you need further help.
