97 talon AWD. Just got a rebuilt motor put in last month and the car has been down for about that amount of time due to suspended license and part installs.

First problem I'm having is I'm blowing oil everywhere under the hood. It was doing that before the rebuild so I looked at my old cap that I double gasketed and found one of the gaskets split. Put on a new cap as the stock one didn't want to tighten down and it's still blowing oil out. I put a new valve cover on and RTV the gaskets. Problem not solved. I have a new cap on order and if it doesn't fix it, I don't know what the problem is. I need to put in a quart or more every few days.

I also installed a FMIC and things were fine at first and then I blew a coupler off on the highway. Fixed it and it sounds normal. Few days later when I give any amount of gas I can hear a whistle sound AFTER I let off the gas. I need to get a compressor to do a BLT

Next is RPM related. I found out that when I let off the gas once in a while the rpms drop way low and the car wants to stall out. I do have a light weight flywheel but it hasn't given me problems like that before. Only after the rebuild. Anyway, I went into the garage and had the car in neutral and slowly raised the rpms. Once it hit 2k it would bounce from 2k to 1500 as if the TPS went bad and sitting at a stop. Let off the gas and sometimes it would stall and other times it wouldn't. No CEL for it

I rebuilt my throttle body a couple times as the first time was for the shaft seals and the second time was to re-seat the plate. Now after I have the car off for maybe 10min or so the pedal is "hard" to push in compared to how it should be. After I press it in though, it's fine like it should be. Just after it's been sitting for a little bit it become stiff.

Lastly is cosmetic. The new VC I ordered was powercoated candy color. Looking for the oil leaks, I drove around with a rag and infront of the the hole that is in the VC that is in between and above #1 and #2 cylinder. I also taped a paper shop towle around the cap. When I was done driving they were stuck on there and now I have blue paper around the cap and some red fabric threads in the valley. Any way to remove it and is powder coating supposed to get that hot or gummy .

Please help me out here I'd rather not take it to a shop. Any and all advice is welcome

Had something similar to your oil trouble (had not rebuilt it though, it just happened one day) ... turned out to be an O ring gasket by the block that was leaking onto the exhaust (but this was also on my Honda, maybe that was why) ...

You might want to try some of the dye that reflects under I believe a black light to find the source of the leak... good luck though

The VC oil leak is probably not caused by a bad gasket, but because you're pressurizing your VC.

Do a boost leak test on compressor inlet with your oil cap off and listen for leaks there. In the mean time put a staight breather on the VC instead of the line that goes to the Snorkle and plug the snorkle there.

You may have a bad pcv valve. That would be easy to fix.

Do you have a new turbo on the engine? If it's an old one you might be leaking air through an oil line into the crank case. But a BLT can tell you a lot. Post results.

I'm getting a compressor tomorrow so I'll be able to BLT then. In the mean time though, I have a new Evo 3 16g on it. maybe 8mo old but car hasn't been driven for 5 of those months. I have a oem pcv valve on there and I did test that out before I bought it and it's the only one that held decently, besides, I bought one of those airgas check valves and put it inline before the pcv valve too so there is vaccum coming out but no boost leaking in. I dont' know where else to look for the oil leak. I've had multiple people say to put a dye in the oil. Any other suggestions as to where oil could blow out from and get in the valve cover. Timing belt is dry btw.

I got the compressor and did a blt off of the compressor housing and found a leak on the j pipe flange. Fixed that and went to repressurize the system and it'll only goto 5psi and drop instantly. I installed a fmic and the air wooshing sound is coming from the bumper. It seems that is a major leak that needs fixed asap. Still no luck with the oil leak so more thoughts are welcome.

::Edit::

I can still only pressurize to 5-8 psi. The air escapes instantly. I have a small leak at my TB gasket and around my BOV. I can hear a lot of air leaving from somewhere behind the engine and have sprayed soapy water all around back there where I can and haven't found anything at all. I don't know what else to do.
