multiple failures coincide...

ok massive problems with the car today.. yay... anyways, i iwll make this short and to the point... my lights always flickered constantly for the last month, today they stopped... i think ok great that fixed itself. WRONG! I turn the car on let it idle for a minute or two, drive down my street, radio shuts off, lights dim to nothing, NO ALT LIGHTS COME ON...
CEL comes on, I start to sputter, i whip it around and drive it home.. turn the car off.
I proceed to get my laptop hook it up and pull the code... its 12- mass air flow sensor, ok I have a GM MAF and maf-t, and all the wiring is fine and connectiones are perfect.
I go to turn the carback on and its dead... my 2 month old battery is now totally dead. I jump start the car, and it idles fine again.. as soon as i go to drive it in the garage, cel comes back on and car sputters 10 feet until it dies...
I know the battery is dead, and possibly the alternator is fubar i dunno I can have it tested tomorrow. what should I do about this cel situation.

Replace your battery, and make sure your battery connections are tight..

Bad alternator most likely, but check all the fuses and battery as well. The CEL is probobly just because of the voltage getting so low the gm translator may have just shut off from not enough power, leaving the ecu without a mas signal.

ahh, i had no idea the maf could send a check engine light becuase of the lack of voltage...can anyone else confirm that being the case. I really hope its just the battery and alternator becuase theyre both freebies...
