Hey guys, i got a 90 eclispe n/t  wish i had a turbo.....anyways my exhaust sounds kinda loud even though i got this flowmaster 40 series muffler on there. If i put a straight through muffler from ebay on there with a 3" dual tip would it be too loud for the cops?????? I dont know if they would pull me over or not.......cause they love nabbin kids with red cars.... any answers would be nice. thanks.

i want to swap engines sometime soon for a turbo but just wonderin if it would be too loud... idk...LOL

I wouldn't go with straight thru, gunna get even louder. The part where us turbo guys get deeper tones, is from the turbo restricting the exhaust.

Maybe swap out to a dual tipped muffler, might help. Or changing your exhaust to smaller pipes. N/A is just so whaaaaaaaa
Theres nothing wrong with N/A. I owned a GSX before my talon and yeah it was fun to drive but on long trips id much rather have my N/A to me it seems more suitable for cruising long distances and doesnt eat as much gas either definately a plus with gas prices in some places. As for the muffler question RedEclipse had, I cant remember what the exact limit is but its somewhere in the 80db range for the federal legal limit on exhaust noise. Legally state laws cannot override federal laws test your exhaust and as long as it complies with federal regulations the cops cant say a thing.

I actually read up on it today while i was having some new tires mounted... the legalk limit is 95dB

I had a Buschur 3" cat-back (have 2.5" o2/dp also) now THAT was ground shaking loud. I got sick of it and decided to get one that at least had a silencer on it. I ended up getting a Megan Racing 3"in 4"out N1 style Turbo muffler, with the silencer on it is QUIET. Even with the silencer out, it's still quieter than the BR muffler.
