Muffler Question

my friend has one of these and i wanted one too. but is this really a muffler i can just weld on to my stock exhaust system? when i looked at my friend's muffler it looked pretty hollow inside with just a bunch of tiny wholes like it wouldnt do anything at all. we asked a mechanic and they told him that it wasnt a muffler and that if he tries to put it on, the car will just make a terrible noise like as if there was no muffler on the car at all. any advice on this?

you should worry about that little pipe that runs into the muffler before doing anything about the muffler itself.

Ouch... only 2.25" Inlet pipe. The object of any exhaust upgrades is to let the air excape and the turbo to breath (intake) better. If your just looking for the sound of that paint can muffler then yeah, you can weld it on with some minor pipe cutting and fitting.
