Ive searched around, and found alot of old threads with conflicting information about the MSD DIS-2 boxes.

First of all, can anybody provide a link for install in a 2g? all the previous ones are dead, and i lost my instructions!!!

Also, what bennefits people have expierienced, as well as problems. I already have the thing, so ive already spent the money.

Im running DSMlink, MAFT, and a FP30xx very soon i hope. will be a pump gas only car.

If it is a pump gas car there will be no advantage really. The stock coil puts out enough voltage for just about 99% of the people on here. Especially with pump gas there isn't a need for the MSD box. I ran my 95 on crappy Iowa 92 octane with a FP 3065.

People have made 600awhp on stock ignition. Plan on making over 600? Probably not with a fp30x, especially not on pump.

wouldn't the "multiple spark" feature that makes the msd so effective increase the efficiancy of the burn? Even if this dosen't improve measurable power, i would think that throttle responce and even fuel efficiancy could be improved.

I had it for a while before it burned out. It made absolutely no difference in power, maybe part throttle response, but I think it was just my imagination. The best part of it was the stutterbox feature, adjustable rev limiter, and no-lift. It was great for launching, I could build like 17 psi on my current turbo in neutral (8-ish psi on the T25). It makes launching a lot easier. It kinda spoils you, launching kinda sucks now since I no longer can just bury the throttle and let the MSD do the work since it burned out. Also, since I road race I always shift before 6500 rpm, so I set the normal rev limiter down to 7k just in case, plus it provides much better rev limit control. You can also use it so keep the turbo spooled up between shifts if set up right. But in the end they all burn out eventually. At least I got mine for almost nothing.

well, if the only benefits are the rev limiter, the no-lift, and launch deal, my dsmlink does all of that, so i guess ill just try to sell the thing!

Thanks all
