I recently received my ported 68HTA is there any reason the MR O2 housing wouldn't work well with it? I decided on an MR because of price and the fact that I've got a MR3' downpipe already, which I assume should definitely fit their o2 housing well.

No unfortunately it isn't for some new model car (I wish). I just hope the housing and turbo line up well and don't need porting on the o2 side. I will really be ill if the o2 and 3' downpipe from the same company don't fit together.:barf:

Megan Racing really isn't the best quality, they require quite a bit of port work to fit properly and sometimes the bolt holes need enlarged just like all the other ebay o2 housings.

So are they bad enough that the airflow will actually be hurt without porting. Evo 3 manifolds may be better for someone who doesn't mind porting themselves but during my 1G throttle body swap I got enough to last me a loooong time! Could it really fit worse than the oem 2G o2?

The MR o2 will need to be opened up into more of a D shape on the wastegate side and it will need to be enlarged in general to match the opening on the turbo housing. In fact it seems that it would be impossible to enlarge the wastegate port enough to match the D shape. Would it actually be better to have the stock 2G O2 ported than to use this MR one?

Just port the 2g one to match the gasket, Its not a huge restriction on flow, and the megan racing one won't be much better. If you find one that has a proper bolton flange and opens up to 3" that would be what you want.

What would the negative effects be if the turbo housing outlet was bigger than the corresponding port on the O2 housing, which would in effect create a step in the path of the air-gasses? Specifically the side with the flapper. The exhaust outlet which would bolt to the downpipe seems to be be a good match for the MR downpipe. Another questiion is if the turbocharger exhaust inlet on the exhaust manifold side was a little bigger than the exhaust manifold outlet by 1/8-3/16 would this hurt anything performance-wise.
