Motor squealling at start-up

mkalters ------ I am having the same problem with belt squeal, and now that you say that I do recall something sprayed on the underside of the hood by the power steering pump. What did you do to fix that?
 
other than the tightening of the belts, sometimes there gets like power steering fluid or some type of oil gets on to the belts. this causes squeeling even if the belts are tightened properly. just go get a can of Gunk engine cleaner and spray the belt(s) off while engine is idling. you wont go through the whole can so you can either save the rest or spray off valve cover and manifold and stuff...makes the engine look nice but make sure to burn it off by idling the engine before you drive around. otherwise it'll smoke from under the hood while you drive it around and that = no bueno :) keep me updated!
