Howdy all, what's going on. Just wanted to know when doing a BLT on the manifold do I have to put the motor in a certain position, like say the #1 on TDC. I cant get anymore than 5 psi when testing and are there any other things I should do. Thanks

The engine does not have to be at TDC to do a boost leak test. Why can't you get above 5psi? Do you hear air escaping anywhere? Possible leaks in intercooler piping? Since you mentioned you are doing a BLT on the manifold, are you hooking your boost tester to the intake side of your turbo or to the throttle body? You should be at the turbo.

If he is only trying to test the manifold, He doesn't have to test the entire intake pipe system. Actually if he is only able to get 5psi then it is probably a good thing that he is testing sections to eliminate options, rather then the entire system.

I'm just hooking up to the throttle body when I do the test. I always have problems with the manifold so I just test everything in sections. I usually test from the turbo to the last pipe before the throttle body and then do the manifold by itself last. I'm using a tire compressor to put the air in, maybe I need to use a real compressor but shouldn't It still hold more pressure. I cant hear anything and I sprayed soap and water over everything. I drenched it and still cant find anything.
