I'm going to be replacing my old motor mounts. My question is... Should I replace all four or only the front and rear? I have read that replacing the two side mounts make for some serious vibration. Also, I'm not sure which ones to buy.

Just getting a set (all four) of Prothane mounts is a good upgrade. Much stiffer, but not as bad as solid mounts, plus they're only like $80.

The stock 6 bolt motor is coming out and a new 2.3 stroker and fully built trans is going in. I just wasn't sure about the solid motor mounts, the insert type or doing all 4 or not.

Poly is the mount of choice :p in my previous 1g i never noticed much vibration except when hard accelerating you can feel it but whos gonna care at that point when your in boost :D you wont really feel much unless you are cammed it will shake the car from what ive heard. if they are to stiff for you some members have drilled holes in the poly mounts to soften it up some and it would be best to replace front and rear IMO to reduce engine movement.

Go with the prothanes,I have the red ones they are nice. They are deffinantly a tuff mount.Once you have the rings out of the mounts the prothanes go in really easy. There is a little vibration but you get used to it and it softens up with time as they break in.

GO with prothanes! unless youre hardcore then go with the solid mounts :p haha

I would do all 4 with the prothane mounts for a street car and there cheap . Solids will transfer more vibration into the chassis not a big deal for me but some dont like it.
