Ok now that I've got the car back running I'm about to start my upgrades. I plan on starting with a new turbo first and want something very efficient. keep in mind I plan on installing new more bigger cams later. Also plan on a few more mods. right now the car is all stock except for a greddy type s bow, ( which I hate btw).

Can't really help you choose a turbo unless I know what your goals are.
So with that being said 14b, small 16g, and evo 16g are the usual turbos.
What max whp are you planning to hit.

I might add; buying the turbo first is a recipe for disaster. Get proper supporting mods first and a way to tune THEN upgrade the turbo.

I just want to make decent street HP. I want quick spooling of course and a decent street turbo, not looking to make loads of HP so im sure I wont have to do much in terms of supporting mods. Im looking for 300HP MAX. Nothing extreme just enough to say hey my car isnt factory and it shows. And as far as a way to tune goes, Ive heard of people changing just the factory T25 turbo out for a small 16G and making more HP without having to tune the car any differently. True or no? IDK because im not too turbo tech savy yet, but I am doing my reading. Like I said nothing extreme.

I just saw where you live as well, Just want to say I vacation where my Parents live in NC from time to time and we should hook up for a ride or something if your free next time im up that way. They live in Bryson City NC.

If quick spooling and 300hp max is truly your goal, it doesn't get much easier than a T-28. Install a re-wired EVO 8\9 or Walbro 190 fuel pump, get a wideband, watch your A/F ratio and you can probably boost to about 15psi on stock injectors but they WILL be maxed out so don't go higher until you have a way to tune it with bigger injectors. The stock exhaust system will hold you back so a cat-back is the minimum exhaust upgrade needed to wake up your turbo. A boost gauge is a given but you will definately want a wideband also to see what is actually going on with your A/F ratios. Also, a stock 1g or Evo BOV are cheap (~$30), reliable, and will easily hold the boost levels needed for your HP goals and beyond.

Oh, and if you are even thinking about trying to figure out a way to make anywhere near 300hp on stock injectors, it is absolutely not possible. You will never have enough fuel, period. The most you can hope to eak out with stock injectors is probably about 250-ish HP; beyond that, you will need some form of EFI management.

I'm sorry I forgot to mention the car has a 3" greddy cat back exhaust already. I'm assuming that should be sufficient for my hp goals. also, are my hp goals hard to achieve?
