You get what you pay for. You pay for a knockoff, you get a knockoff. It will be a second rate piece of crap and it will break.

How big of a turbo are you planning on running and at what PSI? You most likely can get away with a crushed 1G or a Greddy TypeS (which you can probably find used cheap)

i have the BIG 16G now and was using a crushed 1G but it took a crap at most ill have and evoIII 16G soon but for not the B16G I didnt really want a TypeS nor do i want a !g again. But thanks for teh responce maybe i will end up with the Type S

I'm interested in the answer to this question too. If I had to do it all over again I'd get a SSQV-- I really like the design concept. And if the Monza one works just as well, then I'd get that instead. I have a 1G BOV now with the Dejon Tool stop leak mod installed on it, but I'd still rather have a SSQV if I could.

See good responce , now me and Doug need a good answer. I want info from someone who had used or knows someone who has used one. I want facts not opinion. Does it perform? Thanks if anyone knows :dsm:

Well, I guess i am the first. Three people in omaha have them and they all work great, Not one single problem with the thing. The only problem is its really loud. I think louder then the Hks.

OK, I did. I just put it on today. Holds boost to 20 PSI just fine. Flutters a lot just like the real HKS, but I haven't tried to adjust the screw on the back yet. From reading on here today, it looks like I need to loosen it as much as I can to reduce the spring tension. I'll report back after I've had a chance to play with it some.

Awsome what did you pick it up for ? my SSQV flutters alot but i didnt adjust anything soo yea. does it sound like a turkey getting hit by a mack truck ? mine does... LOL!

Yeah, I've also heard it described as a flock of pigeons. :D I got it off eBay for $85 shipped brand new. Came with the recirculation fitting too. It's the one with the rounded back end, not the hex-shaped back end like the HKS. I hope it works out OK.

maybe some car parts are like how most electronics, clothing, basically everything are.. they out source labor to China.. then label it with their sticker.. usually if thats the case.. tahts why there are knockoffs/copies that are near identical.. so im sure they work fine..

they also have a greddy knock off

I'm still using mine with no problems. Still need to do a boost leak test to confirm there are no leaks, but it performs flawlessly from what I can tell. It still flutters, but I even tried a bone stock 1G BOV on my new FMIC piping and it fluttered too. Don't know why.

i got a crushed 1g bov vented. mine doesn't flutter. Is yours uncrushed?
i was surprised how good the crushed bov sounds. Mine is crushed as far as possible. it has no leaks and car runs fine.

about this thread when I started it I needed a bov and *wanted* something alittle better. so I got the SSQV and vented up untill about 2 weeks ago. it sounded great but drivability and gas milage sufferd. so I made a recirculation kit and ever since then the car has been running alot better like it did wiht my recirculated 1G. but now I can barely hear the SSQV. I dont race my car professionally and I dont boost around town very much so im questioning the need of the 200 dollar part when the 45 dollar part will suit me just fine. so yea if you getting this bov and plan on recirculating save the $$ get a 1G and maybe buy a nice InJen intake or something that will help out more.

I've tried both a crushed and an uncrushed 1G. Both fluttered, but only since my FMIC install. I think there's something funny going on with the FMIC piping or flange.

check your vac line to the bov. it may pinched or twisted somewhere. i was fooling around with my car and noticed it flutters only when i pich the bov vac line.

Alot of the ebay bovs are actually good. the design is too simple to mess it up. as long as it's adjustable yu can tune it to work correctly with your car vented or not. Don't see why a bov would fail . and if it did it would only need a new spring.
