Ok guys i have a thread up on talk that im gonna link to but ill give everyone the short of it real quick. Basically we're looking at making a sheet metal plenum to bolt on in place of the factory one. Something that will flow more along with porting the short runners and probably even velocity stacks on the same ones.

Basically i'm looking to get the added bottom end from a cyclone but increase the top end alittle too. I think this should work like i want but i'm not a pro.

Anybody have any ideas to help make this work?

I think its a very interesting idea. Were you thinking of welding a new plenum to the middle part of the manifold, or welding it to a flange that you just bolt on to the middle part of the manfiold?

It would be way easier to just make your own flange for the upper part, but I forsee clearance problems with the larger plenum. I know when I had my Cyclone there wasn't a whole lot of room around it.

I'd like to hear what some other people have to say about it. I currently have a SMIM, but I saved my Cyclone to swap out if I ever wanted as I loved the powerband it provided.

This is similar to an idea I've been tinkering around with over the last few months, but I havent had a chance to really play around with it to much lately. If you guy's need a hand or whatever shoot me an email.

The idea is to cut a new flange and bolt a plenum on just like it is from the factory. Clearances have been brought up as one issue. I'm trying to take it to JMF as he's local and does exceptional work. I guess we're just gonna have to see about the clearances once i get it to them and let them start playing around with different plenum designs.

Any thoughts on plenum shape and use of velocity stacks?

would really like to see what JMF could come up with for this. I think that it would be a cool set up.

Do you know which thread or who was doing it? I'd be interested to talk to him.

As it stands right now i found a manifold which i'm waiting to recieve. Then it's time to go down to JMF and talk it over with the guys down there and see what kinda ideas we come up with.

I found the thread in the lounge about the guy making a different plenum for the stock manifold. Not exactically the same as he did it to a US spec manifold and cut and welded a new plenum on.

I recieved my manifold and i dropped it off at JMF last night. Got to talk with Jim and Brent for alittle while about what my ideas on this are and they shared with me some that they already have. Ill post up again when i have more info in a couple weeks.
