If you also cut the metal shoud behind it...maybe dice? I dunno tho. I could see arguements going both ways. IMO, it'd be easier and prettier to do the 'street sign' mod and bring air from under the car.

I'll try the street sign thing. It'll probably work better. I think his idea is for pure aesthetics with a little bit of ram air effect. I could probably come up with some type of ram air for a dsm but I'm not sure if it is worth my time. As he is my neighbor, I'll see what we can fab up.

The "fog light" air duct is played out an limits the amount of air coming inn, think about it specially
you big horse power guys, it just makes more sense to have cold air diverted to particular areas
of your engine bay,the intake sucks heat no matter if you have a heat shield, theirs really no cold air
circulating around the engine and heat is your worst enemy, I guess I'm the only one thinking out side the
box...LOL

mike, you h*e you need to drop that 50 trim already!!!

The only mod I can see worth doing to any 2gb front bumper would be this:

Make an air dam around your air filter element (to segregate engine bay air from the filter), cut a hole/widen the stock UICP opening in the metal, and suck air from the stock SMIC duct on the passenger side of the bumper cover. Classic CAI, and you suck ambient (outside of the engine bay) temps...and look stock. The ram air effect, pressure-wise is negligible at highway speeds. You just want a smooth passage from the bumper cover to the air box which can be done with some duct fabrication where the stock SMIC used to be.
