Ok, i bought this car a few months ago, with a fresh tune. bought it in elizabethtown, pa. had MD inspection, and PO said he hadnt had the car long. blew out the clutch last week (act 2600 extreme & fidanza FW) clutch fork ball broke. spun the clutch right off the shaft. once back together, i start the car to see a screaming idle. (2k-3k). i know the PO told me it was running dsmlink v2. battery dcd on v2= lost my tune. no cable was given to me, so im pretty much screwed. ive been reading around about ostrich 2.0 and it seems like a pretty good solution for low cost. i know all about link purism and all, but i honestly can not afford it right now, and i can afford to buy ostrich. opinions? thoughts? ideas?

when i bought the car, i boosted to 20psi, with no issues, all day, and got almost 30 on the highway out of boost. dcd battery..... 7-9 psi. car does have a 3in gm maf with MAFT installed, but dont think it was tuned that well with a MAFT. i need help, im not new to DSM, but im newish to tuning. ive ran a MS a few times, and link a few times.

Buy the cable, download the software on your laptop. Start reading the tuning 101 on ecmlink. The main thing you can do is set a base tune so you can drive around. The cable is like $50 or so. And the software is free.

Also your missing an exhaust to turbo bolt. Your going to need that.

i cant buy the cable anywhere, ecmtuning wont sell them, and the few people that have them refuse to part with them. something about special hardware built into the dongle.

If it has ECM link v2 then its only $195 to get upgraded to EMC v3. Might be the way to go.

If your new to tuning you might look into finding a flashable ecu and a tactrix cable. There is a lot more support for that than for ostrich in a 2g

ill look into that tomorrow, thanks! i just want my car back to normal. i was hoping to find a 2g v2 cable, but its like a freakin unicorn.
